GOOD Morning Wilton is tremendously excited to announce that we’ve created a partnership with the Wilton Newcomers Club. Now the must-join organization for people moving to Wilton and the town’s must-read daily news source are working together to make sure that long-time and new residents alike have the best experience possible here.

Tara Thompson, WNC president, said the two organizations are vital for people who move to town.

“The Wilton Newcomers Club provided me with a comforting base of new friends within days of moving here. Though I’ve lived in Wilton for almost a year and a half, some of my closest friends are from WNC. After GOOD Morning Wilton débuted last fall, I’ve begun each day by reading their newsletter and browsing through the website. It’s a natural fit that we work together to provide both newcomers and those just looking to meet new friends with a space to meet and mingle,” she said.

“It makes GOOD sense for us to work together,” explained GMW.com editor Heather Borden Herve. “Both GOOD Morning Wilton and Wilton Newcomers Club exist to help Wilton residents connect with one another and with businesses and organizations around town. We’re honored to now have the title of ‘The Official News Source for the Wilton Newcomers.’”

Founded in 1965, the Wilton Newcomers Club is a non-profit social club that serves families in Wilton. The club offers a wide variety of activities and events to suit its diverse membership, including dinner groups, morning coffees, monthly luncheons, adult socials, kids’ playgroups, a working moms group, and family events.

It’s a great way to meet people and get involved in the community, both for residents who have just moved to Wilton recently as well as for people who have lived in Wilton for a bit longer.

As part of the partnership between WNC and GMW.com, we’ll be bringing you periodic updates about events the club is hosting as well as a perspective from some of the Newcomers Club’s board members, who are uniquely qualified to help provide tips, hints, anecdotes or even a humorous take on life in Wilton. We’re really excited that WNC president Tara Thompson will be a monthly contributor as well, joining our team of writers. You can learn more about her here, and look for her upcoming columns each month.

Of course you can always look for the Newcomers’ ad on the side of all the pages of our website, and if you click on that it will take you right to the WNC website. That’s the fastest way for more info about registering for and attending events, or how to become a member.

For more information, you can always visit the WNC website.
