Wilton’s Trackside Teen Center is organizing a Wilton Food Truck Festival to take place this summer. Executive director Mark Ketley reports that he has scheduled the event for Sunday, August 12, to take place at Allen’s Meadow, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m..
The event will feature a variety of 20 different food trucks, craft beers, live music, a kids’ fun park including water slide, and more, according to Ketley. Admission will be $10 per car, and all proceeds will support Trackside Teen Center.
“We were looking for another event to raise money as our town funding keeps getting reduced. Food trucks have become so popular and festivals are really popular across the state,” Ketley explains.
While only one food truck–Bumski’s Mobile Beer and Wine truck–has committed so far, Ketley says it’s still early, and that he has just begun soliciting trucks through the Connecticut Food Truck Association.
Wilton musician Joan Wallace, who performs with Wilton Rocks for Food and runs Acoustic Wilton, will be the event’s music coordinator and is lining up local talent to perform. The day will be a family friendly event, says Ketley.
“I have inflatable bounce houses and water slides lined up. We need this to attract regionally in lower Fairfield County to be a success.”
