DESCRIPTION:As part of an ongoing effort to prevent identity theft in the community\, Bankwell in Wilton will be providing free\, on-site shredding services at the Bank’s 47 Old Ridgefield Road branch on Saturday\, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. until noon. \nThe Bank encourages residents of the community to take the opportunity to securely dispose of old credit cards\, passports\, bills\, invoices\, checks\, statements\, or other personal papers. The Bank requests that each individual limit their items to 3-ft. square boxes. \nStaff with proper protective equipment (PPE) will be on hand to help unload boxes from cars and carry them to the shredder. There is no need to get out of the car. \nBankwell is a community bank that serves the banking and lending needs of residents and businesses throughout Connecticut. DESCRIPTION:The Wilton Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with local businesses\, retailers\, and merchants to present “Shop Wilton Week” beginning Monday\, Nov. 9 and lasting through Sunday\, Nov. 15 for daily specials and promotions! \nOn top of the promotions that week\, for the entire month of November\, shoppers can pick up a “shopping postcard” at participating retailers. Guests will be able to visit merchants with their shopper card and each time they spend more than $25\, they will receive a stamp.  After accumulating three stamps\, the shopper can submit their completed postcard to any participating store to be entered to win items from our local businesses! Retailers interested in participating please email the Chamber. \nThere’s more! Enjoy an interactive game while you shop! Here’s how to play: \nEach participating retailer will have a special QR code hidden somewhere in their store. Take a picture inside the store or a selfie\, scan the QR code\, answer the question\, and tag the Wilton Chamber on Instagram @enjoywilton. Two shoppers will be randomly drawn to win a $50 Wilton Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificate! Winners will be announced on Dec. 4\, 2020. \nMake sure to shop and support Wilton’s local businesses! SUMMARY:Economic Development Commission Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Meeting at the Comstock Community Center on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:15 p.m.\, the Economic Development Commission (EDC) works to improve Wilton’s reputation as a place where the enhanced quality of life for workers and residents attracts new businesses\, relocation of current businesses\, and success for existing businesses. The 10-person commission has worked since 2012 to assist current business owners in maintaining and expanding their businesses\, to increase available commercial space in the town\, and to expand the commercial sector through fostering a friendly attitude towards business in Wilton.
