DESCRIPTION:As winter approaches\, Wilton Congregational Church invites you to join in its Annual Coat Drive. From Sunday\, Nov. 2 through Tuesday\, Nov. 4\, the church is collecting gently used coats and outerwear to help keep our neighbors in Wilton and surrounding towns warm this season. \nDonations can be dropped off in Pilgrim Hall at the rear entrance of the church (70 Ridgefield Rd.). Bring your used coats — and even scarves and hats — anytime\, from Sunday\, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. until Tuesday\, Nov. 4 at 4 p.m.  \n\nDrive around in back of the sanctuary and bring your donated coats right into Pilgrim Hall\, through the door with the covered porch. \nAfter hours\, simply leave them in the plastic bins located under the covered porch.\n\nYour generosity will benefit several local organizations\, including Bridgeport Rescue Mission\, Open Doors Shelter\, Person to Person\, Pivot Ministries\, and Wilton Social Services. Any size is welcome; men’s\, women’s\, and children’s coats are all needed. \nFor over 60 years\, Wilton Congregational Church Coat Drive has helped keep people in our community warm and comfortable as winter sets in. Take a look in your closet for the coats you no longer need. It serves as the final resting place of many notable Wilton residents\, including Revolutionary War veterans\, pastors\, businessmen\, and town founders with familiar names like Lambert and Hurlbutt. \nCostumed reenactors along with Wilton History Room Archivist Dr. Julie Hughes\, Wilton Historical Society Director Nick Foster\, and Wilton Congregational Church Executive Administrator Pam Brown will be on hand to share the fascinating history of the cemetery\, the town\, and the select individuals interred there\, as well as the historic traditions surrounding death and burials in the 18th and 19th centuries. \nWalk begins near the main gate of Sharp Hill Cemetery. DESCRIPTION:Please join Temple B’nai Chaim and invited guests to a special town hall meeting\, “Confronting Acts of Hate in Our Community\,” on Sunday\, Feb. 4\, at 2 p.m. \nIn light of the unprecedented rise in the number of hate-inspired incidents within our local communities\, Temple B’nai Chaim’s Social Action Group to Confront Antisemitism and Hate ─ in partnership with the Anti-Defamation League’s Kulanu Program\, the Riverbrook YMCA\, and the Wilton Library ─ will offer a two-hour community strengthening program led by faith and local community leaders. \nPanelists representing various faiths and marginalized groups ─ including Cantor Harriet Dunkerley (Temple B’nai Chaim)\, Father Reggie Norman (Our Lady of Fatima)\, Sohair Omar (Muslim community representative)\, Sarvesh Damle (Hindu community representative)\, and Rachel Simon\, ED (LGBT+ community\, Norwalk Triangle Center) ─ will share their communities’ sensitivities and experiences with hate incidents. U.S. Rep. Jim Himes will also speak. \nThe program sponsors hope that this community program will facilitate the formation of a supportive network that will meet periodically to follow up on this forum’s discussions and implement ways to prevent hate speech and acts of hate from invading our community. DESCRIPTION:Join the Wilton Historical Society and the Wilton Congregational Church on Sunday\, October 22 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. to explore the town’s oldest extant burial ground\, Sharp Hill Cemetery. Established in 1738\, the cemetery was active up to the 1880’s. It serves as the final resting place of many notable Wilton residents\, including Revolutionary War veterans\, pastors\, businessmen\, and town founders with familiar names like Lambert and Hurlbutt. \nCostumed reenactors along with Wilton History Room Archivist Dr. Julie Hughes\, Wilton Historical Society Director Nick Foster\, and Wilton Congregational Church Executive Administrator Pam Brown will be on hand to share the fascinating history of the cemetery\, the town\, and the select individuals interred there\, as well as the historic traditions surrounding death and burials in the 18th and 19th centuries. \nWalk will begin near the main gate of Sharp Hill Cemetery. The cemetery is located at the intersection of Danbury Road (Route 7) and Sharp Hill Road (Route 106). \nPlease register in advance by visiting the Wilton Historical Society website.  Suggested donation of $10.
