It serves as the final resting place of many notable Wilton residents\, including Revolutionary War veterans\, pastors\, businessmen\, and town founders with familiar names like Lambert and Hurlbutt. \nCostumed reenactors along with Wilton History Room Archivist Dr. Julie Hughes\, Wilton Historical Society Director Nick Foster\, and Wilton Congregational Church Executive Administrator Pam Brown will be on hand to share the fascinating history of the cemetery\, the town\, and the select individuals interred there\, as well as the historic traditions surrounding death and burials in the 18th and 19th centuries. \nWalk begins near the main gate of Sharp Hill Cemetery. Residents are encouraged to check their closets and donate gently used coats and outerwear to help individuals in need in Wilton and neighboring communities. \nThe drive benefits several area organizations\, including Bridgeport Rescue Mission\, Open Doors Shelter\, Person to Person\, Pivot Ministries\, and Wilton Social Services. Donations of men’s\, women’s\, and children’s coats are greatly needed to keep people warm this winter. \nDonations will be collected from Sunday\, Nov. 3 through Tuesday\, Nov. 5 in WCC’s Pilgrim Hall. Donors can drop off their items at the rear entrance of Wilton Congregational Church\, located at 70 Ridgefield Rd.. \nHelp spread the word and make a difference in someone’s life this winter!

DESCRIPTION:Please join Temple B’nai Chaim and invited guests to a special town hall meeting\, “Confronting Acts of Hate in Our Community\,” on Sunday\, Feb. 4\, at 2 p.m. \nIn light of the unprecedented rise in the number of hate-inspired incidents within our local communities\, Temple B’nai Chaim’s Social Action Group to Confront Antisemitism and Hate ─ in partnership with the Anti-Defamation League’s Kulanu Program\, the Riverbrook YMCA\, and the Wilton Library ─ will offer a two-hour community strengthening program led by faith and local community leaders. \nPanelists representing various faiths and marginalized groups ─ including Cantor Harriet Dunkerley (Temple B’nai Chaim)\, Father Reggie Norman (Our Lady of Fatima)\, Sohair Omar (Muslim community representative)\, Sarvesh Damle (Hindu community representative)\, and Rachel Simon\, ED (LGBT+ community\, Norwalk Triangle Center) ─ will share their communities’ sensitivities and experiences with hate incidents. U.S. Rep. Jim Himes will also speak. \nThe program sponsors hope that this community program will facilitate the formation of a supportive network that will meet periodically to follow up on this forum’s discussions and implement ways to prevent hate speech and acts of hate from invading our community. In addition\, our new Director of Music Ministries and Organist\, Andrew Leslie Cooper\, will give everyone a taste of what is to come from our music program and answer all your questions about our youth choirs. There will also be an opportunity for you to help support our mission partners\, Open Doors Shelter in Norwalk\, and WiACT\, the Wilton Interfaith Action Committee. We will be collecting after-school snacks for the children at Open Doors Shelter and food for Afghan refugees.
