DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, June 8\, Broadway’s master storyteller and comedian Mike Birbiglia will take to the stage once more\, this time in Connecticut’s very own Sacred Heart Community Theatre in support of Wilton-based non-profit Circle of Care. \nCircle-of-Care is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial and emotional support for families of children with cancer. For its signature event this year\, Circle of Care is thrilled to partner up with Birbiglia for a special evening of laughter. Birbiglia is “red-hot right now” after his sold-out Broadway shows\, a role in Tom Hank’s movie A Man Called Otto\, and his recent appearance in Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero” video. Join the Wilton Historical Society as it honors Faesy with well-deserved recognition and appreciation at this festive fundraising event. Members and friends are welcome to attend and may request an invitation or purchase a ticket below. \nGiven by the Wilton Historical Society\, this new award recognizes an individual or organization that has made a significant contribution to the preservation of historic places in Wilton and/or recognizes an individual who inspires others by their commitment\, leadership and vision for helping instill a historic preservation ethic in others. The first recipient selected for the award is A. Robert “Bob” Faesy\, long-time Wilton resident\, architect and preservationist. \nNow an Emeritus Trustee\, Faesy’s vision and dedication to historic preservation helped create the Wilton Historical Society’s Museum Complex\, Lambert Corner\, and Cannon Corner. For decades\, he has been a strong advocate for adaptive reuse and protecting Wilton’s historic landscape. \nThe award is named for Julian A. Gregory\, Sr. (1874 – 1939) who was elected the first President of the Wilton Historical Society\, and served from 1938-1939. The Wilton Historical Society was formed in 1938\, prompted by distress over the proposed demolition of an historic barn. According to Bob Russell’s book “Wilton: Three Centuries of People\, Places and Progress”\, a group of citizens were “concerned specifically about the imminent removal of the horse sheds behind the Congregational Church\, and generally about the changing character of Wilton” and shortly thereafter founded the Society. \nProceeds from this event will support the ongoing education and historic preservation mission of the Wilton Historical Society \nTo request a mailed invitation\, please contact info@wiltonhistorical.org or call 203-762-7257.

SUMMARY:Chef/Sous-Chef Challenge–CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. \nJoin the Circle of Care for a Chef/Sous-Chef Challenge benefiting families of children with cancer. This will be a fun interactive battle of local celebrity chefs paired with amateurs in a “Chopped” style competition. Participating chefs are Matt Storch of Match; Ron Gallo of The Inn at Pound Ridge; Adam Greenberg (the “Winningest” chef in Food Network TV history!) of Coconut Club in DC; and Wilton resident Brian Lewis\, of Westport’s The Cottage and Oko. \nThis tournament will feature two individual cook-offs with the winner of each going head-to-head for the final competition. There are four sous-chef positions available in exchange for a donation to Circle of Care\, contact us for this once in a lifetime opportunity to cook with a top chef. \nFinal competition kitchen has limited capacity but will be viewable from monitors. \nGeneral Admission ticket ($90): includes wine\, beer\, and tapas. (Final competition only viewable from monitors)\nVIP ticket ($175): includes all General Admission amenities\, entrance to final competition kitchen\, with champagne toast\nCounter Seat ticket ($250): includes all General Admission and VIP amenities plus counter seating at the cooking island. DESCRIPTION:The Trackside Teen Center executive staff and the Board of Directors are hosting an 80’s Nights-themed fundraising night to help continue to raise awareness and funds to benefit the teen center. \nIt’s an evening of karaoke\, open bar\, food \, trivia\, and incredible 80s music for all guests to enjoy.
