This month’s meetings are on Tuesday\, July 7 and Tuesday\, July 21 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.. \nThe first one on July 7 will focus on vegetarian dishes\, and the next on July 21 will focus Asian dishes – appetizers or entrees. \nRegistration is required and space is limited. Must have a Zoom account. An email link will be provided to all registrants prior to the session. \nQuestions? Please email Susan Lauricella. Visit the library’s website to register.

SUMMARY:Colonial Tavern Night
DESCRIPTION:Taverns and inns were an integral part of 18th century Wilton\, serving as restaurants\, bars\, rest stops for weary travelers\, and community centers. These businesses were so vital that for a time\, Connecticut colonial law required several towns to have at least one tavern open. On April 28\, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.\, the Wilton Historical Society will celebrate and acknowledge these important historic places by hosting its own tavern at the museum! \nJust like Wilton’s colonial residents\, guests can help themselves to delicious food and drink\, try their hand at some colonial tabletop games like Shut the Box and Nine Men’s Morris\, listen to traditional folk music\, and explore part of the Society’s c. 1772 Sloan-Raymond-Fitch House\, which operated as a tavern throughout the American Revolution and was nearly burned to the ground by the British 246 years to the day of this event. Guests can also participate in a themed tavern trivia contest and test their knowledge of the 1700’s with a chance to win some reproduction Colonial drinkware. \nTicket includes open bar of beer and wine with beer provided by Redding Beer Company and food courtesy of Jeff’s BBQ. Hard cider samples will be provided by Farah Masani and Shawn Frend of Wilton Cider House. \nThis event is for adults 21+ and is generously sponsored by WildBloom Skincare. Tickets are $45 for members and $55 for non-members.  To purchase tickets\, visit the Wilton Historical Society’s website. \n

SUMMARY:Colonial Tavern Night
DESCRIPTION:By popular demand\, the Wilton Historical Society is thrilled to announce the return of Colonial Tavern Night. Join us for an evening of great food\, drinks\, games\, and trivia! \nTaverns and inns were an integral part of 18th-century Wilton\, serving as restaurants\, bars\, rest stops for weary travelers and community centers. Limited supply\, purchase yours now! \nAttendees can participate in that evening’s history pub trivia contest\, and winners will receive two complimentary tickets to the upcoming Colonial Wilton Historic Homes Tour on Saturday\, Nov. 16\, led by HisTOURy. \nTicket includes open bar of beer\, wine\, cider and cocktails\, with food courtesy of Jeff’s BBQ.\nHard cider samples provided by Shawn and Farah of Wilton Cider House — home brewers and hobbyists wanting to share the magic of cider making utilizing this age-old technique….\nHandmade cocktails courtesy of Barrelsmith Liquors\nHandcrafted beer from Twelve Gods Brewery
