SUMMARY:A Future Worth Facing: Faith\, Climate\, and the World Ahead ... A Conversation with Peter Croce of Probable Futures
DESCRIPTION:What does our faith ask of us in a world where the future of our climate is changing? \nJoin Wilton Congregational Church for a thoughtful and engaging conversation with Peter Croce\, a senior member of Probable Futures\, a leading initiative helping people understand how climate change is shaping the conditions of our lives\, communities\, and future. \nRather than focusing on politics\, Probable Futures invites us into something deeper — climate literacy\, a clear-eyed understanding of what is happening\, what it means and how we might respond with wisdom and purpose. \nIn this Second Hour program\, we will explore:\n• What is actually changing in our climate and why it matters for everyday life\n• How communities like Wilton can meaningfully engage these realities\n• Where we find grounding\, responsibility and even hope in the face of uncertainty \nThis conversation is for anyone who is curious\, concerned\, uncertain or simply seeking to better understand the world we are living in — and the one we are shaping.

SUMMARY:Spring Migration Birding at Allen's Meadow and its Community Gardens
DESCRIPTION:Join the Norwalk River Watershed Association for this series of free spring migration bird walks led by expert birder\, conservationist\, master gardener and Wilton resident Joe Bear. Bear will lead everyone on a leisurely two-hour walk from 8-10 a.m. through the diverse habitats this well-known birding hot spot has to offer — open fields\, woods\, woodland edges\, pond\, and swamp — to seek out returning summer residents\, those on their way to northern breeding grounds\, and maybe a vagrant or two. Previous spring walks have yielded a wide variety of species\, including both Orchard and Baltimore Orioles\, Bobolink\, Indigo Bunting\, Scarlet Tanager\, Eastern Kingbird\, Rose-breasted Grosbeak\, Flycatchers\, Vireos\, and a variety of colorful Warblers.  You’ll get a chance to see up close Eastern Bluebirds and Tree Swallows vying for one of the 12 nest boxes erected by Bear in and around the Little Bluestem meadow.  Bear will also talk about the new native pollinator meadow he’s been working on since 2021.\n\nPlease register using the attached link\, and park in front of the Field 6 sign at Allen’s Meadow.\n\nThis event takes place:\nWed. April 29\nFri. May 8\nSat. May 16
