DESCRIPTION:Join the Wilton Land Trust on Sunday\, Jun. 7\, from 12-1:30 p.m. for a guided Spring Wildflower Walk by Trustee and Stewardship Committee member Tina Duncan\, followed by a day of meadow management in the Eugenia Slaughter Fields (located at the junction of Nod Hill Rd. and Pipers Hill Road). \nStewardship Sundays bring together community members of all ages to care for Wilton’s natural landscapes and strengthen their connections to the environment. In just 1.5 hours\, participants help maintain trails\, restore biodiversity\, and support the long-term health of our preserves. \nThis welcoming\, hands-on program is open to everyone who wants to make a meaningful difference in our local environment. SUMMARY:Wilton's 5th Annual Norwalk River Duck Race
DESCRIPTION:May the best duck win!\n\nWe’re proud to announce the Fifth Annual Norwalk River Duck Race in celebration of our community and the Norwalk River!\n\nLearn how to cast a fly rod\, learn about some exciting river restoration projects and of course\, watch your rubber duck race it’s way downstream!\n\nDucks cost $25 an entry and 100% of the proceeds go towards Trout Unlimited‘s conservation mission to restore the Norwalk River.\n\nRubber ducks will launch simultaneously over the Schenck’s Island bridge (across from Stop & Shop) at 10:45 a.m. sharp and race through the Norwalk River. They will hit some bumpy currents along the way\, encounter some real ducks and wildlife but easily cruise to the finish line at a marked spot! The race takes approximately 15-20 mins and participants will be able to follow along from either the street sidewalk\, island side or wait at the marked finish line. First duck to the finish line wins a prize!
