DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, July 22\, the Wilton Chamber of Commerce will host its 11th Annual Wilton Street Fair and Sidewalk Sales from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wilton Center will be transformed into an exciting\, action packed\, bargain filled\, entertaining and delicious destination for residents and regional visitors. \nThe summer festival is proudly presented by Kimco Realty\, ASML\, Meadow Ridge\, Fairfield County Bank\, and The Greens at Cannondale and Wilton Meadows\, to support the numerous retailers\, restaurants\, businesses\, artisans and local organizations who pull out all the stops to showcase our community as a vibrant retail\, service and dining destination. \nIn addition to the shopping and dining opportunities featured during the day\, the Wilton Chamber of Commerce has lined up entertainment with music\, live performances\, and many new activities for the whole family and for our furry friends too! Attractions and activities will be centered around the gazebo\, Wilton Library\, and throughout Old Ridgefield Road that will include a Touch-a-Truck activity center\, face-painting\, bouncy-house\, magician\, balloon characters\, family friendly activities\, street performers\, kid’s crafts\, live animal encounters and exhibits\, sand art\, plus treats galore and much\, much more! This event will surely delight and surprise our shoppers and attendees! \nThe Street Fair vendors and entertainment are all located along Old Ridgefield Road from the Village Market to the intersection of Godfrey Road including the gazebo at the Town Green. We look forward to celebrating a great summer event with our residents and the community! SUMMARY:Weekend Workshops – Colonial Cookery: Blueberry Pie
DESCRIPTION:Wild blueberries have been consumed by Indigenous peoples of New England for thousands of years. Colonial settlers also harvested blueberries\, as they were easily dried and stored for winter\, incorporated into a wide variety of recipes\, and used for medicinal purposes. Today\, the tradition of eating blueberries both on their own and as an ingredient in delicious baked goods remains as popular as ever. \nOn Saturday\, June 24 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.\, the Wilton Historical Society will hold its very own Colonial Blueberry Lattice Pie baking workshop.  Participants can dress in costume and discuss Colonial manners and customs\, and bake a scrumptious Colonial Blueberry Lattice Pie which will be served with a refreshing pitcher of sweet tea. Don’t miss this fun foray into the culinary past led by Museum Educator Catherine Lipper! \nSuggested for ages 6-10. The fee is $10 per child for members and $15 per child for non-members. \nRegister on the Wilton Historical Society website.

On April 28\, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.\, the Wilton Historical Society will celebrate and acknowledge these important historic places by hosting its own tavern at the museum! \nJust like Wilton’s colonial residents\, guests can help themselves to delicious food and drink\, try their hand at some colonial tabletop games like Shut the Box and Nine Men’s Morris\, listen to traditional folk music\, and explore part of the Society’s c. 1772 Sloan-Raymond-Fitch House\, which operated as a tavern throughout the American Revolution and was nearly burned to the ground by the British 246 years to the day of this event. Guests can also participate in a themed tavern trivia contest and test their knowledge of the 1700’s with a chance to win some reproduction Colonial drinkware. \nTicket includes open bar of beer and wine with beer provided by Redding Beer Company and food courtesy of Jeff’s BBQ. Hard cider samples will be provided by Farah Masani and Shawn Frend of Wilton Cider House. \nThis event is for adults 21+ and is generously sponsored by WildBloom Skincare.
