DESCRIPTION:Join us on Sunday\, Sept. 13\, for a special service of remembrance and reflection as we honor the lives lost on September 11\, 2001. \nWe will gather in the WEPCO courtyard at 8:30 a.m. and process together to the Memorial Garden\, led by a bagpiper and color guard. Clergy will lead us in a service of prayer and moments of silence\, planned in collaboration with the Wilton Fire Department and members of our congregation with experience in trauma care and emergency response. Together\, we will hold in our hearts all those whose lives were forever changed by that day. \nAll are welcome as we gather in community to remember\, reflect\, and pray for peace. Please arrive promptly at 8:30 a.m. so we can begin the procession together.

Millions of birds journey south to their wintering grounds this time of year\, some staying in Connecticut\, some traveling as far away as the pampas grasslands of South America. Bear will lead us on a leisurely two-hour walk through the diverse habitats this well-known CT birding hot spot has to offer – open fields/meadow\, woodland edges\, the community gardens which are often teaming with migrants\, and the new native pollinator meadow. Fall sightings in recent years have included bobolinks\, dickcissels\, indigo buntings\, a variety of warblers\, orioles\, flycatchers\, sparrows\, as well as several species of soaring raptors including bald eagle.\n\n\nRegister online. \nThe event is drizzle or shine.
