DESCRIPTION:Look what’s back again! Traditionally hosted by Point Break Tacos\, which closed doors last year\, the 4th annual Duck Race returns\, with the torch to oversee it being passed to Trout Unlimited. \nTrout Unlimited is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of freshwater streams\, rivers\, and associated upland habitats for trout\, salmon\, other aquatic species\, and bringing communities together for this mission. \nThe duck race will take place on Sunday\, May 25 at 10 a.m.\, starting at Schenck’s Island in Wilton Town Center. While the ducks will be racing down the river for about 20 minutes\, participants and guests can explore downtown Wilton for local shopping and eateries as well as learn a few fly-fishing tricks from Trout Unlimited. \nThe participant whose duck crosses the finish line first will win a Sweet Summer prize and the infamous “Big Duck.”  Racing ducks are limited to 150 (one per registrant) and residents and guests are encouraged to register as soon as possible. The cost to enter is $25 per race duck\, with 100% of the proceeds supporting Trout Unlimited’s conservation mission. \nVisit the event website for additional details and registration instructions.

The official opening will take place on Saturday\, Oct. 23\, at 11 a.m. \nWilton’s State Rep. Tom O’Dea\, former State Sen. Toni Boucher\, former State Rep. Gail Lavielle and many current town elected and appointed officials will be present to welcome all Wiltonians into the location to meet the RTC’s slate of candidates for this year’s municipal elections. \n“There is a lot of excitement for the Row B slate this year\, and we are excited to open the doors of our headquarters to the public\,” said Peter Wrampe\, WRTC Chairman. He added\, “We look forward to seeing many of our friends and neighbors stopping by our headquarters in the coming weeks.” \n“In this important election year\, Row B candidates are running to support our businesses\, law enforcement\, parental participation in Wilton’s schools\, and to protect local zoning from state control. We are running for a Wilton run by Wiltonians\, rather than a Wilton run by a state party platform out of Hartford\,” said Board of Selectmen candidate Kim Healy. \nThe headquarters will be open to the public starting Tuesday\, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Residents are invited to stop by to get a lawn sign or candidate materials.
