Whether it’s a classic coda after a nice\, long lunch or a perfect prelude to a romantic dinner\, Tierney’s engaging stage presence and fabulous vocals over Tamir’s dynamic and inventive piano will enchant as well as entertain us. Their special repertoire for this concert will guarantee a memorable afternoon of jazz. \nFrom a concert review: “Watching Hendelman’s marvelous hands fly across the keyboard\, one is reminded of the likes of Oscar Peterson\, Chick Corea\, and Keith Jarrett.” And The New York Times called Tierney Sutton “a serious jazz artist who takes the enterprise to a whole other level.” \nNine-time Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist Tierney Sutton has received a “Best Jazz Vocal Album” Grammy nod for every project she has released in the last decade. Known for her impeccable voice and imaginative treatments of The Great American Songbook\, Sutton is heralded for her abilities as both a jazz storyteller and her ability to use her voice as an instrument. In May 2016 Tierney was approached by legendary Director Clint Eastwood to work on his box-office smash-hit Sully. The score was created by Tierney Sutton Band pianist\, Christian Jacob\, The Tierney Sutton Band\, and Clint Eastwood. The end-title song “Flying Home” features music by Eastwood and lyrics by Tierney Sutton and JB Eckl and was performed by Tierney Sutton and The Tierney Sutton Band. \nBorn in Tel Aviv\, pianist\, composer and arranger Tamir Hendelman has resided in Southern California for many years\, but it’s fair to say the world is his home. A long-time member of the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra\, he has recorded with Barbra Streisand and Natalie Cole\, performed with Benny Golson and Terell Stafford and has been a guest artist of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Winston-Salem Symphony. On Sunday\, June 1\, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. join Wilton Historical at Schenck’s Island and Chess Park (202 Old Ridgefield Rd.) to feast from a collection of the area’s finest food trucks\, with all proceeds to benefit the Society. \nAttendees can explore Wilton’s culinary and food-producing history\, with re-enactments from knowledgeable colonial educators and fly-fishing demonstrations on the Norwalk River courtesy of Trout Unlimited’s Mianus Chapter. The festival will also include live music\, historically inspired games\, face painting\, and more! \nThe Wilton Historical Society Food Truck Festival is being held in partnership with Wilton Pride’s Be You Festival and Wilton Coalition for Youth #Wiltoniswhereyoubelong campaign. The Be You Pride Festival will take place on the Town Green on Sunday\, June 1\, and visitors are encouraged to spend the day in Wilton Center supporting all the participating community organizations. \nAll proceeds from admissions to the Food Truck Festival go directly to the Wilton Historical Society’s mission to preserve Wilton’s history\, and connect\, engage and educate all who would look to the past to shape the future. \nTickets are available to purchase ahead of time or at the event day-of! DESCRIPTION:The Middlebrook Music Department is inviting the wider Wilton community to attend its annual Winter Concert series. Each evening will be an exciting mix of fun and festive music from diverse composers\, multiple genres\, and historical periods. School officials welcome members of the public to join the school community for performances by Middlebrook’s band\, choir and orchestra students; enjoy original artwork by Middlebrook’s visual artists; and browse the Book Fair in Middlebrook’s LLC. \nThe Middlebrook Winter Concert schedule is as follows: \n\nMonday\, Dec. 16 — 6th Grade\nTuesday\, Dec. 17 — 7th Grade\nWednesday\, Dec. 18 — 8th Grade\n\nEach night\, the first set begins at 7 p.m. with the chorus\, followed by a brief intermission.
