SUMMARY:Take A Walk in the Woods with Wilton Conservation Commission: Cherry Lane Park
DESCRIPTION:The Wilton Conservation Commission invites everyone to come for a Walk in the Woods at Cherry Lane Park. The commission will be guiding a walk on Sunday\, Jan. 26\, beginning at 1 p.m.. Commissioner Colleen O’Brien will lead the one mile walk and welcomes all to join\, including dogs on leash. If there is snow\, consider bringing snowshoes to use in this Town park\, as the terrain is gently sloped for this type of recreation. \nRefreshments will be served at the end of the walk\, allowing time to greet and chat with neighbors and representatives of the four partner organizations that make the Walks and Talks Program possible:  Norwalk River Watershed Association\, Wilton Garden Club\, Woodcock Nature Center\, and Wilton Land Conservation Trust. \nDirections to Cherry Lane Park:  From the junction of Rtes. 7 and 106\, follow Rte. 106 east for one mile to Cherry Ln.; turn right (south) onto Cherry Ln.; the entrance to the park is 0.3 miles on the left (east side of the road). \nThere is no fee to attend. Pre-registration via email is recommended should there be a need to postpone due to weather.

And Ambler Farm has already-germinated plants for easy transition into your garden. We plant seeds in organic matter soil in our warm greenhouse where they germinate. We then transition the plants to our unheated hoop house before finally moving them outside. Transplants include those that are suited for a colder Northern climate (when planted). \nSafe Shopping\nSale Dates:  May 16\, 22\, 23\, and 30 \nTo ensure everyone’s safety\, we are opening the Transplant Sale for more days and longer hours this year. SUMMARY:Ambler Farm Transplant Sale
DESCRIPTION:Are you ready to start growing your own vegetables and flowers? Now’s a great time to plant your garden and it’s a fun activity the whole family can do together. And Ambler Farm has already-germinated plants for easy transition into your garden. You can choose from more than 225 varieties of plants this season. \nAbout Our Transplants\nOur transplants are 100% organically grown in our greenhouse from seed in a compost-based potting soil and they are lovingly tended by our director of agriculture\, Jonathan Kirschner. \nWe strive to give you plants that will do well when you are ready to plant them in your garden. We plant seeds in organic matter soil in our warm greenhouse where they germinate. We then transition the plants to our unheated hoop house before finally moving them outside. Transplants grown with our methodology suffer less transplant shock and show better resistance to adverse conditions such as disease and pest pressure. Transplants include those that are suited for a colder Northern climate (when planted). \nSafe Shopping\nSale Dates:  May 16\, 22\, 23\, and 30 \nTo ensure everyone’s safety\, we are opening the Transplant Sale for more days and longer hours this year. Shop the Transplant Sale on Saturday\, May 16; Friday\, May 22; Saturday\, May 23; and Saturday\, May 30. We’ll be open 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day. \nThere are two ways to purchase your transplants: \n\nPurchase your Transplants Online Today with Curbside Pickup:  To guarantee that you receive the varieties and quantities that you want\, shop our online store and purchase the plants today. They will be put aside specifically for you. Once you have purchased your transplants\, visit the signup page to schedule your pickup date and time. We’ll have your plants ready for you and our team will put them right into your trunk. Please note that we cannot ship plants.\nStop\, Browse and Shop for your Transplants:  Sign up for an available 30-minute window to come out to the farm to shop our safe\, open-air transplant market. You’ll self-select your transplants while enjoying the beautiful grounds of the farm. We won’t rush you but we do request that you are prompt so that we can accommodate all our guests in a timely manner.\n\nPLEASE NOTE:  Face masks must be worn while you are in the Transplant Market area–please remember to bring yours.
