DESCRIPTION:Wilton’s annual Holiday Stroll will be held on Friday\, Dec. 7\, beginning at 4 p.m. on the Town Green in Wilton Center. This year the Wilton Chamber of Commerce\, Kiwanis Club of Wilton\, and the Town of Wilton have planned an expanded schedule of events to celebrate Hanukah\, Christmas\, and the arrival of winter. Community officials invite everyone to bring family and friends to Wilton Center to welcome in the season! \nThe schedule of events has been set to include: \n\nMenorah Lighting on the Town Green at 4 p.m.. GOOD Morning Wilton is pleased to participate in this year’s Holiday Stroll by providing traditional potato latkes (pancakes) for everyone to enjoy.\nChildren of all ages can participate in holiday crafts and activities on the Town Green\, featuring free cookie painting (nut free) with The Painted Cookie. Enjoy festive music provided by the Wilton High School band and local holiday carolers.\nTree lighting on the Town Green at 5 p.m. followed by Santa’s arrival. Santa will visit with children at the gazebo on the Town Green where they can share their holiday wishes and receive a special treat from Santa.\nMarshmallow Roast at Schenck’s Island from 5-8 p.m. sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Wilton. Enjoy hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows by the warmth of the campfire.\nWilton Library will be welcoming visitors with refreshments by the warmth of the fireplace. Visit the Holiday Book Sale and Art Exhibition for holiday gift giving.\nStrolling\, shopping and visiting through town to enjoy the generous hospitality of retailers\, restaurants\, and local businesses.\n\nThe Holiday Stroll is an outdoor event. All of this will be part of our Open House.” \nFollowing the Open House the RTC will hold its regular January meeting that is open to the public starting at 7:30 p.m.. \nIf you can’t make it on Tuesday evening\, don’t worry. DESCRIPTION:The Wilton Police Department will be offering tours of its facility on Saturday\, Oct. 19\, between 9 a.m.-1 p.m.. Members of the community are welcome to stop by anytime during these hours for a tour. \nThe tours are being offered in conjunction with the work of the Police-Town Hall Building Committee that has been charged with studying the deficiencies and needs of the police headquarters and recommending a cost effective solution to the Board of Selectmen. DESCRIPTION:Loyal Wilton Family YMCA members\, staff\, and Board members are getting ready to take their polar plunge in the icy cold pond at the Riverbrook Regional YMCA’s Annual Swamp Romp on Saturday\, March 7. The Romp is held to raise funds to support the Y’s Youth Development Programs that serve over 3\,645 youth annually. \nThrough the various programs offered\, youth gain the confidence that comes from attending camp\, learning to swim safely\, participating in STEM programming designed to decrease the achievement gap and support Special Needs Youth by promoting self-reliance and fostering meaningful relationships. \nHelp support the Riverbrook Regional YMCA’s Swamp Romp by donating online\, and attending the Open House from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday\, March 7. Come to the pond and watch the rompers jump in at 1 p.m..The event is free and open to the public.
