At secret locations along the Woodcock trails we’ll delight your senses with all new craft brews and sweet sips for all ages plus animal encounters\, treats and treasure hunts. Also\, live music with Lazer Goose and guitarist/singer Matt Greene\, plus food for purchase from Dough Girls pizza. Even furry family members will enjoy some goodies along the trek. \nTrek\, taste and discover with Woodcock! \n​\nTickets are available for specific start times (attendees must arrive at the start of the session; walk-up tickets will be available only if space allows): 12- 2 p.m.; 12:15-2:15 p.m.; 3-5 p.m.; 3:15-5:15 p.m.; 5:45-7:45 p.m.; and 6-8 p.m. Pre-purchase ticket sales ends at midnight Friday\, Apr. 24 (check the Woodcock website for updates on availability). \n\nTickets are $57 for adult (21+) tickets\, and $27 for kids (3 and up) and spectators. Admission for 21+ includes: one souvenir tasting glass per 21+ ticket purchased; a one-of-a-kind trek through the woods and wetlands of Woodcock with beer and soda sampling at five stations along the way; complimentary soda tasting\, music\, snacks and water. SUMMARY:Spring Migration Birding at Allen's Meadow and its Community Gardens
DESCRIPTION:Join the Norwalk River Watershed Association for this series of free spring migration bird walks led by expert birder\, conservationist\, master gardener and Wilton resident Joe Bear. Bear will lead everyone on a leisurely two-hour walk from 8-10 a.m. through the diverse habitats this well-known birding hot spot has to offer — open fields\, woods\, woodland edges\, pond\, and swamp — to seek out returning summer residents\, those on their way to northern breeding grounds\, and maybe a vagrant or two. Previous spring walks have yielded a wide variety of species\, including both Orchard and Baltimore Orioles\, Bobolink\, Indigo Bunting\, Scarlet Tanager\, Eastern Kingbird\, Rose-breasted Grosbeak\, Flycatchers\, Vireos\, and a variety of colorful Warblers.  You’ll get a chance to see up close Eastern Bluebirds and Tree Swallows vying for one of the 12 nest boxes erected by Bear in and around the Little Bluestem meadow.  Bear will also talk about the new native pollinator meadow he’s been working on since 2021.\n\nPlease register using the attached link\, and park in front of the Field 6 sign at Allen’s Meadow.\n\nThis event takes place:\nWed. SUMMARY:Spring Migration Birding at Allen's Meadow and its Community Gardens\, with Joe Bear
DESCRIPTION:Join the Norwalk River Watershed Association for this series of free spring migration bird walks led by expert birder\, conservationist\, master gardener\, and Wilton resident Joe Bear. Bear will lead everyone on a leisurely 2-hour walk from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. through the diverse habitats this well-known birding hot spot has to offer – open fields\, woods\, woodland edges\, pond\, and swamp – to seek out returning summer residents\, those on their way to northern breeding grounds\, and maybe a vagrant or two. Previous spring walks have yielded a wide variety of species\, including both Orchard and Baltimore Orioles\, Bobolink\, Indigo Bunting\, Scarlet Tanager\, Eastern Kingbird\, Rose-breasted Grosbeak\, Flycatchers\, Vireos\, and a variety of colorful Warblers.  You’ll get a chance to see up close Eastern Bluebirds and Tree Swallows vying for one of the 12 nest boxes erected by Bear in and around the Little Bluestem meadow.  Bear will also talk about the new native pollinator meadow he’s been working on since 2021.\n\nPlease register using the attached link\, and park in front of the Field 6 sign at Allen’s Meadows\n\nThis event takes place:\nWed. This event will be held rain or shine\, and this year will be fully tented!  \nWhether looking for the perfect gift for mom\, or a spectacular addition to one’s own garden\, visitors will find: \n\nLocally-grown and dug perennials and shrubs \nPollinator-friendly native species\nAnnuals\, and organic vegetable and herb plants grown from seed in the club’s own greenhouse \nA specially curated selection of rare dahlias\nMagnificent hanging baskets\nUnique bouquets and creative floral gifts designed and crafted by club members. \n\nNew this year: WGC’s Certified Master Gardeners will be wearing special identifying badges and circulating throughout the sale to lend their expert advice to curious shoppers and garden newbies. The Annuals Committee will also be providing bespoke garden solutions with a new service to help shoppers select specialized plants for container gardening\, and even pot their selections on-site in compostable paper pulp planters. And if those shopping carts start to feel heavy\, the Wilton Boy Scouts will be on hand to help customers carry and load their purchases into their vehicles.  \nProceeds from the plant sale are used for WGC’s many philanthropic efforts which include: \n\nMaintaining most of the gardens in town (Post Office\, Veteran’s Memorial\, town sign at Rtes. 7/33\, Schenck’s Island Chess Park and Horseshoe Rd.
