DESCRIPTION:Wilton Library’s Summer Music Concert Series is back! \nFairfield County-based pop-rock trio\, Over Easy\, kicks off the series on Thursday\, July 7\, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.\, covering music from the ‘50’s\, the British Invasion era and early ‘70’s classics that are often forgotten. SUMMARY:Connecticut's Own Returns With Music for Spring with Oboe and Piano
DESCRIPTION:Please the Wilton Library for the return of our Connecticut’s Own Chamber Music series to Wilton Library’s Brubeck Room. Wilton residents Ralph Kirmser (oboe) and Kyong Hee Cho (piano) will perform a selection of duets including works by Nielsen\, Beethoven\, Poulenc\, Chopin and Saint-Saens. \nKirmser has been oboist for the Madera Winds Quintet for five years. Prior to that\, he was oboist for the Prevailing Winds of Connecticut and Morningside Wind Quintet of New York City. Dr. Kirmser is a cardiologist and practices in Norwalk. He is a resident of Wilton and has lived there with his wife Sally and their three children for over 40 years. \nCho began her piano career in Korea at the age of four. She attended the Manhattan School of Music as a merit scholar where she earned a BA and MA degree in piano performance. Kyong Hee has performed numerous solo concerts to benefit international medical and disaster relief. She teaches piano at her studio in Wilton. \nNo charge. Registration strongly suggested. Pre-registrants should arrive no later than 3:50 to be guaranteed seating; waitlisted and walk-in registrants will be admitted after 3:50 if space is available. DESCRIPTION:Jazz enthusiasts of all ages\, mark your calendars. The 45th annual John Rhodes Jazz Symposium is scheduled for Friday\, April 8 (4-9:30 p.m.) in the Wilton High School Little Theater. Come enjoy performances by the enormously talented young jazz musicians of Fairfield County\, featuring jazz bands from Wilton High School\, Middlebrook School and three other area high schools. \nHosting the symposium will be WHS band directors Troy Williams and Niall Reynolds. The event will kick off with a performance by Middlebrook 7th grade Stage Band at 4 p.m.; WHS Jazz Band I will play at 8:30p.m.; and the symposium will end with a guest appearance at 9 p.m. by Fairfield County’s own Berkshire Jazz Orchestra \nAll members of the community are invited to join us for this popular celebration of great jazz music and great local jazz talent. Admission is free. Donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated.

Ben McCormack has taken the helm as musical director and Wilber Escobar choreographed the intricate dance numbers that will dazzle audiences. \nPerformances are on Friday\, Mar. 18 at 7 p.m.\, Saturday\, Mar. 19 at 4 p.m.\, and Sunday\, Mar. 20 at 2 p.m. in the Middlebrook School auditorium. Tickets are available at the door or at on the Wilton Children’s Theater website. \nAdult tickets are $15.00\, and student tickets are $10.00. \nProducer Tara Kovach expressed\, “We are thrilled to announce the directorial debut of Maria McConville. This new dramedy by Patti Azzara tells the story of the Mitchell family\, a salt-of-the-earth collective of tough love\, tolerance\, and old wounds that won’t heal. Directed by Dandy Barrett\, The Fair Sex will be live-streamed on Saturday\, May 22 at 7 p.m. The play is produced by Sarah Lee Michaels with technical direction by Laura Ploss. \nKate Mitchell loves her family: her parents\, Harlan and Evelyn; brothers\, Ray and Benny; even her sister Gail\, though it has become more and more difficult as they’ve gotten older. When Kate returns to her childhood home to celebrate her parents’ 40th wedding anniversary\, she barely has one foot in the door before the dating advice\, career guidance\, and religious criticism start rolling in. Wilton Garden Club will be celebrating Daffodil Festival and we have partnered with them\, so you might see us around the Wilton Historical Society dressed up as well! Wilton Library will display books on patriots\, as well as books on the Battles of Lexington and Concord. \nPatriots’ Day\, the third Monday in the Month of April commemorates the Battles of Lexington and Concord\, also known as the “shots heard round the world.” Massachusetts observes Patriots’ Day with the running of the Boston Marathon. Other states observing Patriots’ Day include Maine\, Wisconsin\, Connecticut (2018)\, North Dakota (2019)\, and Florida. As America leads up to her 250th birthday in 2026\, Drum Hill DAR is launching a Patriots’ Day Initiative. We have many fun and some solemn activities planned. We hope you will join us!
