SUMMARY:2019 Wilton Family Bicycle Rodeo
DESCRIPTION:The Wilton Family Bicycle Rodeo will be held in the parking lot of Miller-Driscoll School on Saturday\, April 6\, from 10 a.m. to noon (Rain date:  April 7). All ages are welcome. Drop in any time between 10-11 a.m.. The course closes at noon. The guided road ride for ages 12 and up departs at 10:30 a.m.\, but please arrive at 10:00 to allow time for the safety check. \nAfter having their bikes inspected\, participants will be guided through the rodeo course\, where they will learn and practice skills such as hand signaling\, turning in a limited space\, and maneuvering through obstacles. \nRegistration is recommended\, online. A signed waiver is required for each participant riding the course (adults and children). It centers around charismatic newsboy Jack Kelly (Jack Parrotta) and his new friends\, siblings Davey (Ryan Lynn) and Les (Blake Baumel). After the conniving publisher Joseph Pulitzer (Brycen Addison) raises the price of newspapers for personal profit\, the newsboys refuse to enable his scheme. Jack Kelly\, aided by Davey’s smarts\, passionately leads the newsboys through a strike against the underhanded Pulitzer. DESCRIPTION:Wilton’s biggest trucks are rolling in for the 2019 Touch-A-Truck community event\, hosted by the Children’s Day School of Wilton (CDSW). \nOn Saturday\, May 18\, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Middlebook Middle School (131 School Rd.)\, kids of all ages will have the opportunity to get up close\, climb on\, and take photos with cars and trucks all shapes and sizes. Look for police cars\, ambulance\, dump trucks\, school buses\, big rigs\, and so much more. \nIn addition to exploring the variety of cars and trucks\, kids will have the opportunity to experience Robbie’s Ranch petting zoo\, take a ride on the Roaming Railroad\, be amazed by the balloon animals from Twisty Bros\, take photos with their favorite princesses from A Moment of Magic Foundation\, get a glitter tattoo or their face painted\, listen to music and jump in the bounce houses\, just to name a few of the family-friendly activities. \nIt can get pretty loud during the event; for families with sensitivity to noise\, visit during the quiet hour from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.\, with no horns or sirens. \nTouch-a-Truck would not be possible without the generous donations from Wilton-based community organizations. This year’s premier sponsors include Melissa & Doug and ASML. \nThe community event is rain or shine! Admission is $30/family. Tickets can be purchased at the gate. Concessions will be available.
