SUMMARY:Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps EMT Class
DESCRIPTION:Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps is hosting an EMT training course in partnership with the University of New Haven starting Oct. 7 and ending Feb. 12\, 2026 at Comstock Community Center.  Participants must be 16 by the end of the course.   Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-10 p.m. with additional hands on skill instruction on Saturdays (five Saturday classes scheduled) from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.  To find out more information and register\, visit the WVAC website.

DESCRIPTION:Here’s a purr-fect way to have your child practice their reading aloud skills: Sign up for a session of Reading to Pets! \n\n\n\n\nJoin the Connecticut Humane Society for a limited-run program\, “Reading to Pets.” Designed for children ages 6-18\, the session will help sharpen your child’s reading skills while allowing them to spend quality time with an adoptable pet. \nDuring their session\, children will have the opportunity to read to cats or small pets\, all of whom are excited to lend a furry ear to any new or seasoned reader. Bring your favorite book or pick from one provided by CHS. \nWatch your child’s confidence in reading grow as they bring comfort and compassion to shelter pets. Reading sessions are 20 minutes long and will be offered on Monday\, Dec. 29 and Tuesday\, Dec. 30. Pre-registration is required. \nThere is a registration fee of $12.51 per child\, per session. One adult must accompany their reader for the entire session. Due to space limits and safety requirements\, only one reader and one adult per reservation. Siblings and additional adults are not able to accompany you and your child to the session.
