SUMMARY:Virtual Wine Tasting to Benefit First Candle
DESCRIPTION:Who couldn’t use an escape to Italy right about now? While we can’t be there in person\, come join First Candle and Tyler Colman (Dr. Vino)\, the wine director at Parlor\, for a virtual wine tasting. We’ll be tasting two different wines from the leading Barolo producer\, Vietti\, from the spectacular Piedmont region of Italy\, known for Barolo wines\, truffles\, and risotto. \nLuca Currado Vietti will join via prerecorded video to comment on the wines. The white is the Roero Arneis\, an heirloom white grape variety that Luca’s father brought back from the brink of extinction\, and the red “Perbacco\,” which means “wow” in the local dialect. \nThe wines are available for pre-purchase at Parlor. All proceeds will benefit First Candle’s bereavement support for SIDS and stillbirth and education programs on safe sleep.

SUMMARY:“Longest way round is the shortest way home”: Four-Part Lecture Series on James Joyce’s 'Ulysses'
DESCRIPTION:Mark Schenker of Yale College\, returns to Wilton Library with a virtual lecture series on James Joyce’s Ulysses viewed through the lens of Homer’s epic. This lecture is made possible with the support of the Literary Series in Memory of Amy Quigley. Advance registration is required. Register online in order to receive the Zoom session invitation link. Please note:  participants will automatically be registered for all four sessions in the series. Visit the Wilton Library website to register\, and for program and speaker details.
