DESCRIPTION:The Board of Selectmen\, along with the Town Meeting\, is the legislative body of the Town. The Board consists of five members\, all of whom serve four-year terms. The Board of Selectmen operates under the principles of civility\, respect\, and understanding.  \nThe Selectmen are responsible for town government activities including carrying out town policies\, town ordinances\, and administrative and budgetary management of the Town. \n Currently serving on the Board of Selectmen are Lynne A. Vanderslice (First Selectwoman)\, Lori A. Bufano (Second Selectwoman)\, Joshua S. Cole\, Deborah A. McFadden\, and Ross H. David Hawley Society Children of the American Revolution\, Drum Hill Daughters of the American Revolution\, and the Wilton Congregational Church will sponsor a Wreaths Across America wreath-laying ceremony at historic Sharp Hill Cemetery at the corner of Sharp Hill Rd. and Route 7/Danbury Rd.\, in Wilton. \nIn many homes\, there is an empty seat for one who is serving or one who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. There is no more meaningful time to express our appreciation than during the holiday season. \nContributions are appreciated and can be made online but are not necessary. All participants are welcome and there is no need to donate in order to lay wreaths or be a part of the ceremony. \nWe hope you will join us for Wreaths Across America Day here in Wilton\, or at any of the other 2\,500 participating locations across America\, for this beautiful and moving ceremony that shows our veterans and their families that we will never forget.

SUMMARY:Wilton Historical Society: Great Trains Holiday Show
DESCRIPTION:The much anticipated and greatly beloved Great Trains Holiday Show at the Wilton Historical Society opens on Friday\, Nov. 26\, with Santa visiting on Saturday\, Dec. 11. \nTake the children in your life to an entrancing afternoon with trains and holiday excitement. Wilton Historical’s historic 18th and 19th-century buildings are charmingly decorated and transformed into a train-lovers delight with many different model train layouts winding through tiny towns with a variety of buildings\, tunnels\, and all sorts of delightful animals showing up in unexpected places! The show enchants visitors of all ages with lots of buttons to push and knowledgeable “train engineers” on hand to “talk trains”. Visitors can also see a marvelous miniature holiday village\, twinkling with lights. \nMembers can view the show for free while non-member adults cost $10 and non-member kids cost $5. The show will run from Friday\, Nov. 26\, 2021 through Monday\, Jan. 17\, 2022\, on Wednesday through Sunday. Check the Wilton Historical Society website for more details.

SUMMARY:Town of Wilton: Energy and Utilities Commission Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The mission of the Wilton Energy and Utilities Commission is to promote resource conservation\, energy efficiency\, and explore means to reduce the carbon footprint of the community through the use of renewable energy and other initiatives in public buildings\, homes\, and local businesses. The Commission serves in an advisory role in support of the Board of Selectmen.
