SUMMARY:Board of Finance Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Board of Finance is a six-member elected board that exercises oversight of the Town of Wilton’s finances. The primary function of the Board of Finance is to recommend a budget and a mill rate to the Annual Town Meeting. The Board also has the power to designate the external auditor and to approve supplemental appropriations upon the request of the Board of Selectmen or the Board of Education. The Board reviews bonding proposals prior to consideration by the Annual Town Meeting and the Connecticut General Statutes grant certain powers to the Board\, such as approving investments of Town funds. \nThe BOF meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m.\, most usually in Town Hall Room B.

SUMMARY:Exploring the Enneagram
DESCRIPTION:Wilton Congregational Church is offering a 12-week ZOOM course called The Enneagram Journey starting Wednesday\, Jan. 13. The course includes videos by Enneagram master Suzanne Stabile and it will be facilitated by the Rev. Dr. Anne Coffman\, Senior Minister at WCC. \nParticipants will watch the videos on their own and gather on Wednesdays starting Jan. 13 from 10-11 a.m. via ZOOM to reflect on the videos and work through the exercises in the workbook. All are welcome to participate in this study\, but class size is limited to 20. \nRev. Dr. Coffman is in the process of becoming a Certified Enneagram Teacher in the Narrative Tradition. She explains that the Enneagram is an ancient typology that teaches people how to understand the deepest motivations within themselves and other people\, and something that many have found to be a helpful tool for fostering growth in compassion. \n“We are very excited about offering this course to Wilton and we hope that it will be a great way to increase our caring skills as a community\,” she said. \nMaterials for the course are $30. DESCRIPTION:The mission of the Wilton Energy Commission is to promote resource conservation and energy efficiency\, and explore means to reduce the carbon footprint of the community through the use of renewable energy and other initiatives in public buildings\, homes\, and local businesses. The Commission serves in an advisory role in support of the Board of Selectmen. It also provides education to the community on energy related topics. The Energy Commission is comprised of nine members who serve in two year terms. \nThe Energy Commission meets on the third Tuesday of every month.
