DESCRIPTION:Wilton Pride\, in collaboration with Lighthouse and Middlebrook PTA presents a peer-to-peer social support group for LGBTQ+ youth and their allies. \nMeetings are relaxed and social in nature. No bullying is ever allowed\, and everyone is given a chance to be heard in a safe and casual setting. Teens can drop in to share life experiences and feelings as well as to socialize\, enjoy snacks\, and share common bonds in Lighthouse’s confidential\, non-threatening environment. \nThis group is brought to Wilton by Lighthouse\, a program of Kids in Crisis that serves lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer+ (LGBTQ+) teens and their allies with a welcoming and safe weekly meeting. Lighthouse encourages LGBTQ+ youth to live their best\, healthiest\, and most authentic lives.  Lighthouse empowers LGBTQ+ youth to clarify issues\, gain skills and resiliency\, and envision and seek healthy\, productive\, and fulfilling adult lives. \nMeetings are held every Thursday at Comstock Community Center from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. \n  \n

Step back into history and tour the Weir House and artists’ studios. Go on an Art Bears Scavenger Hunt and check out the colorful outdoor Art Bear installation. SUMMARY:Make Your Own History Camp
DESCRIPTION:Make Your Own History summer camp at Wilton Historical Society is an opportunity for kids to explore history and embrace their creativity. Through engaging\, interactive\, history-based activities\, kids will learn firsthand about artistry\, craftsmanship\, and ingenuity. \nMake Your Own History is limited to 12 campers\, with activities led by education professionals. This small group structure provides instruction in a safe\, relaxed environment where kids can spark their imaginations and have fun with friends. \nKids will learn about Connecticut’s rich history of innovation and creativity by delving into hands-on learning about blacksmithing\, tin punching\, weaving\, dyeing\, apothecary in a colonial herb garden\, Connecticut’s inventions and much more. Mornings will be filled with discovery\, learning\, arts & crafts\, and a simple snack inspired by the day’s project. Each week will have different projects. \nWeather permitting\, campers will meet outside under a tent or in the 1860 Abbott Barn. \nThe camp is suggested for kids ages 6-10 and is limited to 12 participants. \n$275 per child for members and $325 per child for non-members. \nSession One: August 7 – 11\, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. \nSession Two: August 14- 18\, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. \nRegister on the Wilton Historical Society website or via email. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The Board of Selectmen\, along with the Town Meeting\, is the legislative body of the Town. The Board consists of five members\, all of whom serve four year terms. The Board of Selectmen operates under the principles of civility\, respect\, and understanding. In February 2017\, the Board of Selectmen adopted a proclamation to state its principles and encourage all residents to share those principles. \nThe Selectmen are responsible for town government activities including carrying out town policies\, town ordinances\, and administrative and budgetary management of the Town. The Selectmen are not responsible for Wilton Public Schools. Currently serving on the Board of Selectmen are: Toni Boucher (First Selectwoman)\, Joshua S. Cole (Second Selectman)\, Kimberley Healy\, Basam Nabulsi\, and Ross H. DESCRIPTION:Wilton Pride\, in collaboration with Lighthouse and Middlebrook PTA presents a peer-to-peer social support group for LGBTQ+ youth and their allies. \nMeetings are relaxed and social in nature. No bullying is ever allowed\, and everyone is given a chance to be heard in a safe and casual setting. Teens can drop in to share life experiences and feelings as well as to socialize\, enjoy snacks\, and share common bonds in Lighthouse’s confidential\, non-threatening environment. \nThis group is brought to Wilton by Lighthouse\, a program of Kids in Crisis that serves lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer+ (LGBTQ+) teens and their allies with a welcoming and safe weekly meeting. Lighthouse encourages LGBTQ+ youth to live their best\, healthiest\, and most authentic lives.  Lighthouse empowers LGBTQ+ youth to clarify issues\, gain skills and resiliency\, and envision and seek healthy\, productive\, and fulfilling adult lives. \nMeetings are held every Thursday at Comstock Community Center from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Take the Stage: An Acting Workshop for Teens
DESCRIPTION:Students participating in this workshop at Wilton Library will have the wonderful opportunity to try their hands at some theatre games\, improvisations and acting exercises. Everyone will participate in this exciting exploration without feeling put on the spot. The workshop will begin with some fun and inviting warm-up games that gradually build their way to more challenging improvisations. Though disguised as play\, these exercises work on a student’s concentration\, creativity and critical thinking skills. \nWorkshop leader\, Ingrid Schaeffer\, is Chair of the Theatre Department at ACES Educational Center for the Arts. She is the director of her own private creative dramatics program\, InterAct Summer Theatre\, for children. She is a member of Actor’s Equity\, The American Alliance for Theatre in Education and The American Theatre Association. \nRegistration is required. DESCRIPTION:Inland Wetlands Commission Regular Meeting is the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. \nThe Inland Wetlands Commission was established to conserve\, protect\, supervise\, and regulate the wetlands and watercourses within the Town of Wilton.  The Commission is comprised of seven members who serve in three year terms. \nThe Commission is responsible for administering the Inland Wetlands and Watercourse Regulations for the Town.
