SUMMARY:Town of Wilton: Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Planning and Zoning Commission (PZC) is a nine-member elected body responsible for overseeing land use and development activity within Wilton. This involves performing a detailed review and analysis of certain development proposals and making decisions based on established regulatory criteria. Other responsibilities include the review of zoning regulation amendment applications\, changes to the Town’s zoning map\, applications involving the subdivision of land\, and the evaluation of mandatory referrals from the Board of Selectmen. \nThe PZC oversees long-range planning initiatives\, including the preparation of the Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development. DESCRIPTION:Kids ages 8 – 12 are invited to join this crafting class hosted by Fiona Conway. Fiona is an upcoming 11th grade Girl Scout completing her Gold Award. Kids will make crafts out of recycled materials that they find around the house that would otherwise be thrown away and contribute to pollution. Online registration is required for each individual class. Start gathering and saving materials for the next couple of weeks including egg cartons\, cardboard\, scrap paper\, popsicle sticks\, used straws\, and anything else you think could be used in a craft. Fiona will email parents before classes each week to update them on the materials needed for that week. Any other materials may include pipe cleaners\, glue\, markers\, or paint\, but each craft can be personalized so no specific thing is required. Registration required. DESCRIPTION:In Camille Aubray‘s second author talk at Wilton Library\, she introduces her new novel\, The Godmothers. Her historical fiction is an irresistible\, suspenseful novel about four women who marry into an elegant\, prosperous Italian family\, and then must take charge of the family’s business when their husbands are forced to leave them during World War II. \nAubray spoke in 2016 about her novel Cooking for Picasso\, chosen for People Magazine’s Picks of the Best New Books\, and the Indie Next Reading Groups List. She was an Edward Albee Foundation Fellowship winner and a writer-in-residence at the Karolyi Foundation in the South of France. She studied writing with her\nmentor Margaret Atwood at Humber College in Toronto\, and was a finalist for the Pushcart Press Editors’ Book Award and the Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights Conference. DESCRIPTION:Kids ages 8 – 12 are invited to join this crafting class hosted by Fiona Conway. Fiona is an upcoming 11th grade Girl Scout completing her Gold Award. Kids will make crafts out of recycled materials that they find around the house that would otherwise be thrown away and contribute to pollution. Online registration is required for each individual class. Start gathering and saving materials for the next couple of weeks including egg cartons\, cardboard\, scrap paper\, popsicle sticks\, used straws\, and anything else you think could be used in a craft. Fiona will email parents before classes each week to update them on the materials needed for that week. Any other materials may include pipe cleaners\, glue\, markers\, or paint\, but each craft can be personalized so no specific thing is required. Registration required.
