DESCRIPTION:Wilton Library’s annual Holiday Book Sale kicks off at noon on Thursday\, Dec. 5 and runs through Dec. 29 during regular library hours. SUMMARY:4th Annual Sip & Shop to Benefit Circle of Care
DESCRIPTION:The Fourth Annual Sip & Shop to benefit Circle of Care will be held this year in a larger space than ever before to accommodate all of the enthusiastic vendors and holiday shoppers. The event will be held at The Christ & Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (75 Church Ln.\, Westport) on Thursday\, Dec. 5\, from 11 a.m.-8 p.m.. The offerings will include artisan crafts\, jewelry\, clothing unique gift items and\, of course\, delicious food and drinks. \nSimilar to last year’s event\, entertainment will be provided\, which includes music from Cagi and Syd\, and psychic readings by Liza Casatelli Mariani. A special guest this year will be Santa Claus\, who will be in attendance from 12-4 p.m.. Photographer Justin Baird will work his photo magic\, while Tori Santos\, of Fleurish Flowers will decorate the room with exquisite arrangements. \nCircle of Care is the Wilton-based non-profit organization that offers programs and services to support children with cancer and their families. \nWilton resident Janet Montalbano\, of Let’s Make Up\, created the Sip & Shop. “I am so excited that the vision I had four years ago has morphed into something so grand. Every year I have had to locate larger venues to accommodate all of the merchants and attendees. I want to thank everyone in advance for making this event such a phenomenal success\, exceeding all of my expectations.” Montalbano’s goal for 2019 is to raise $20\,000.00 for Circle of Care. \nMerchants this year include American Flora\, Charter My Searay\, Exude Fitness\, Emmy Starr Designs\, Groove\, Hip V\, J. Hilburn\, Kathryn Lee Fitzgerald\, LimeLife by Alcone\, MoKat Creations\, Nancy’s Color Studio\, Proctor Woodturning\, Rodan & Fields\, Roost Candle Company\, Saltbox Press\, Shivani’s Pottery\, Stacy’s Succulents\, SK Stacks\, Snappy Gator\, The Primping Place\, The Queens Beads\, The Style Shed\, Vermont Hemp Health\, Why Not Wines\, and Go Pure. \nIn addition\, food vendors have graciously donated the food for this event\, including Susan Kane catering\, AS Fine Foods Westport\, and Dave’s Planet Pizza Truck.

DESCRIPTION:The annual Holiday Stroll will be held on Friday\, Dec. 6\, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the Wilton Center Town Green. The Wilton Chamber of Commerce\, Wilton Kiwanis\, and the Town of Wilton have planned a variety of events to celebrate the holidays and the arrival of winter. Residents are invited to bring family and friends to Wilton Center to welcome in the season! \nAmong the events scheduled for the evening: \n\nChildren of all ages can participate in holiday crafts and activities on the Town Green\, featuring free cookie painting (nut free) with The Painted Cookie and potato latkes sponsored by GOOD Morning Wilton. Enjoy festive music provided by the Wilton High School band and local holiday carolers.\nTree lighting on the Town Green at 5:30 p.m. following the Wilton Fire Department’s escort of Santa on the Engine 5 ladder truck. Santa will visit with children at the gazebo on the Town Green\, where they can share their holiday wishes and receive a special treat from Santa.\nMarshmallow Roast at Schenck’s Island from 5:30-8 p.m. sponsored by Wilton Kiwanis. Enjoy hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows by the warmth of the campfire.\nFrom 5:30-7:30 p.m.\, Wilton Library will be welcoming visitors with refreshments by the warmth of the fireplace. SUMMARY:Wilton Police Dept./Town Hall Project Building Committee
DESCRIPTION:The temporary committee\, the Police HQ/Town Hall Building Committee\, will meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in meeting Room B. The committee will explore the possibility of a new\, renovated or expanded building for the Wilton Police Department through investigation with the needs and deficiencies of the current department head quarters. In addition\, the committee will look at the Town Hall\, Town Annex\, and certain aspects of Comstock Community Center that remain underutilized or unfinished. They will make recommendations to the Board of Selectman for improvements in these buildings from this investigation. \n

SUMMARY:Music on the Hill:  Sounds of the Season
DESCRIPTION:Join Music on the Hill for their gorgeous holiday concert\, “Sounds of the Season.” Featured this year will be the Jubilate Ringers\, the Festival Chorus\, and our new Community Children’s Chorus. David H. Connell and Ellen Dickinson conduct. Our program of festive music includes choral works by contemporary Scandinavian composers Kim André Arnesen and Morten Lauridsen\, as well as “The Heavens Delight” by New Canaan composer Gwyneth Walker. Other selections include gorgeous seasonal pieces such as “Cantate Domino” (Hassler)\, “Jesus Christ the Apple Tree” (Poston)\, “What Sweeter Music Can We Bring?” (Berger) and the French traditional carol “Masters in This Hall.” \nThe bell ringers will perform a hauntingly beautiful arrangement of the plainchant melody Divinium mysterium (“Of the Father’s Love Begotten”)\, and will accompany both children’s and adult choruses for more familiar carols\, including a medley arranged by Dickinson. \nWe will all sing favorite carols with the majestic St. Matthew’s organ as accompaniment.
