DESCRIPTION:Wilton Pride\, in collaboration with Lighthouse and Middlebrook PTA presents a peer-to-peer social support group for LGBTQ+ youth and their allies. \nMeetings are relaxed and social in nature. No bullying is ever allowed\, and everyone is given a chance to be heard in a safe and casual setting. Teens can drop in to share life experiences and feelings as well as to socialize\, enjoy snacks\, and share common bonds in Lighthouse’s confidential\, non-threatening environment. \nThis group is brought to Wilton by Lighthouse\, a program of Kids in Crisis that serves lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer+ (LGBTQ+) teens and their allies with a welcoming and safe weekly meeting. Lighthouse encourages LGBTQ+ youth to live their best\, healthiest\, and most authentic lives.  Lighthouse empowers LGBTQ+ youth to clarify issues\, gain skills and resiliency\, and envision and seek healthy\, productive\, and fulfilling adult lives. \nMeetings are held every Thursday at Comstock Community Center from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Wilton Library is pleased to announce the return of its annual Summer Music Concert Series. \nFairfield County-based pop-rock trio\, Over Easy kicks off the series on Thursday\, July 6\, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.\, covering music from the ‘50s\, the British Invasion era and early ‘70s classics that are often forgotten. The band receives rave reviews for their ability to cater their sound to their listeners and their fun\, laid-back style. \nConcerts take place rain or shine in the Brubeck Room on Thursday evenings in July starting at 5:00 p.m. The series continues with Sounds of Sinatra Music on July 13\, Captain Obvious on July 20\, and Billy and the Showmen on July 27. \nThe concerts are free and open to the public. DESCRIPTION:New to Wilton Library! \nThe Fairfield County Writers Group (FCWG)\, founded in 2011\, has been supporting and helping writers in the county with regular write-ins and accelerated events during the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) season. The group is a non-profit and has no membership fees or dues. The community is made up of a variety of writers at different stages of their writing adventure. \nThe Group has monthly write-ins and will have group meetings at the Wilton Library on the second Saturday of each month. Please visit the Fairfield County Writers Group website to see the full FCWG calendar for the latest schedule. These sessions are designed to help motivate you to write more and be able to discuss writing issues with other writers. For this session\, Dave D’Alessio\, a Bridgeport-based science fiction and fantasy writer\, will be the guest presenter. He will look at the seven basic plots and show how they impact readers by creating and releasing tension. \nNo registration is required. Register on the Wilton Library’s website or call 203.762.6334. \nCeci Maher grew up in Stamford and resides in Wilton\, where their children attended public schools. As a licensed master social worker\, Ceci worked with children and youth in a psychiatric hospital\, and then moved to leading a variety of local nonprofits including the Horizons National Student Enrichment Program\, Person-to-Person\, and Sandy Hook Promise. In 2022\, Ceci Maher was elected to represent the 26th state Senate district which covers parts of Weston\, Wilton\, Westport\, Ridgefield\, Redding\, Darien\, New Canaan and Stamford. This was be the senator’s first term in the state Senate. She is Chair\, the Children’s Committee; Vice Chair\, Higher Education & Employment Advancement; and. Member\, Energy & Technology\, Human Services\, Internship\, and Judiciary. \nBorn and raised in Indiana\, Keith Denning attended Indiana-Purdue University at Fort Wayne to earn his Nursing degree. He then went to Wake-Forest Bowman Gray Medical Center for his certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. He currently resides in Wilton\, Connecticut and retired in May of 2022 after 39 years of practice. Keith has been a volunteer on medical missions with Operation Smile and the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund and has provided free medical care all over the world. With a strong tradition of serving in all the communities where he has lived\, Keith is now in his first term in Hartford. He serves on the Transportation\, Public Health and Insurance and Real Estate Committees.

DESCRIPTION:The Planning and Zoning Commission is a nine-member elected body responsible for overseeing land use and development activity within Wilton. Key responsibilities of the commission are reviewing zoning regulation amendment applications\, changes to the Town’s zoning map\, and applications involving the subdivision of land\, and evaluating mandatory referrals from the Board of Selectmen. Additionally\, the commission oversees long-range planning initiatives\, including the preparation of the Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development. \nPlanning and Zoning Commission Regular Meetings typically occur on the second and fourth Mondays of the month\, from 7-9 p.m. \nMeetings can be attended by the public via the Zoom link. \nMembers of the public can submit written comments and questions via email to Land Use Director/Town Planner Michael Wrinn by 12 p.m. on the day of the meeting\, or members of the public can comment on Zoom at the appropriate time by raising a hand to notify the host of the intent to provide comments. Public participants will be promoted one at a time to provide comments live on Zoom.

DESCRIPTION:Inland Wetlands Commission Regular Meeting is the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. \nThe Inland Wetlands Commission was established to conserve\, protect\, supervise\, and regulate the wetlands and watercourses within the Town of Wilton.  The Commission is comprised of seven members who serve in three year terms. \nThe Commission is responsible for administering the Inland Wetlands and Watercourse Regulations for the Town. The Board consists of five members\, all of whom serve four year terms. The Board of Selectmen operates under the principles of civility\, respect\, and understanding. In February 2017\, the Board of Selectmen adopted a proclamation to state its principles and encourage all residents to share those principles. \nThe Selectmen are responsible for town government activities including carrying out town policies\, town ordinances\, and administrative and budgetary management of the Town. The Selectmen are not responsible for Wilton Public Schools. Currently serving on the Board of Selectmen are: Toni Boucher (First Selectman)\, Joshua S. Cole (Second Selectman)\, Kimberley Healy\, Basam Nabulsi\, and Ross H. No bullying is ever allowed\, and everyone is given a chance to be heard in a safe and casual setting. Teens can drop in to share life experiences and feelings as well as to socialize\, enjoy snacks\, and share common bonds in Lighthouse’s confidential\, non-threatening environment. \nThis group is brought to Wilton by Lighthouse\, a program of Kids in Crisis that serves lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer+ (LGBTQ+) teens and their allies with a welcoming and safe weekly meeting. Lighthouse encourages LGBTQ+ youth to live their best\, healthiest\, and most authentic lives.  Lighthouse empowers LGBTQ+ youth to clarify issues\, gain skills and resiliency\, and envision and seek healthy\, productive\, and fulfilling adult lives. \nMeetings are held every Thursday at Comstock Community Center from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. \n  \n
