DESCRIPTION:Calling all daffodil planters! This past April\, Wiltonians enjoyed the uplifting sight of more than 13\,000 cheerful daffodils blooming around town to welcome spring. This coming Saturday\, Nov. 2\, residents are invited to join the Wilton Garden Club in planting the final round of its daffodil beautification program known as the Golden Miles Initiative. The planting of 2\,000 bulbs will take place this Saturday at Wilton Town Hall (238 Danbury Rd.). Those interested in volunteering should meet at Town Hall at 9:30 a.m. and bring a shovel or trowel and garden gloves. Refreshments will be provided. \n“This is the Garden Club’s last year of a five-year beautification program to plant 15\,000 daffodils\, and we’d really love to finish strong\,” said Suzanne Knutson\, chair of the Golden Miles Initiative. “We welcome the public to join us in enhancing the grounds of our town government and helping us celebrate our final round of spreading daffodil happiness throughout Wilton.” For more information or to donate to Wilton Garden Club\, visit the Wilton Garden Club website.

Donations of men’s\, women’s\, and children’s coats are greatly needed to keep people warm this winter. \nDonations will be collected from Sunday\, Nov. 3 through Tuesday\, Nov. 5 in WCC’s Pilgrim Hall. DESCRIPTION:Join the Wilton Historical Society and the Wilton Congregational Church on Sunday\, November 3 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. to explore the town’s oldest extant burial ground\, Sharp Hill Cemetery. \nEstablished in 1738\, the cemetery was active up to the 1880’s. It serves as the final resting place of many notable Wilton residents\, including Revolutionary War veterans\, pastors\, businessmen\, and town founders with familiar names like Lambert and Hurlbutt. \nCostumed reenactors along with Wilton History Room Archivist Dr. Julie Hughes\, Wilton Historical Society Director Nick Foster\, and Wilton Congregational Church Executive Administrator Pam Brown will be on hand to share the fascinating history of the cemetery\, the town\, and the select individuals interred there\, as well as the historic traditions surrounding death and burials in the 18th and 19th centuries. \nWalk begins near the main gate of Sharp Hill Cemetery. DESCRIPTION:A variety of organic produce\, Ambler Farm’s own maple syrup and more make Ambler Farm’s farm stand a must-not-miss on Saturdays\, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.\, June through October. The farm produces dozens of varieties of vegetables\, fruits\, flowers and herbs\, yielding as much as 15\,000 pounds of produce annually. The farm stand’s offerings may change week to week\, but the outstanding quality of the produce does not and the harvest only grows more bountiful throughout the growing season! \nAfter you fill your market bag we hope you have time to stroll the farm and meet our newest residents — Nigerian dwarf goats Caramel and S’more\, and Annabelle\, a Flemish giant rabbit\, and her young\, fast-growing bunnies. \nAmbler Farm is owned by the Town of Wilton\, but managed and operated by Friends of Ambler Farm\, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

DESCRIPTION:The Planning and Zoning Commission is a nine-member elected body responsible for overseeing land use and development activity within Wilton. Key responsibilities of the commission are reviewing zoning regulation amendment applications\, changes to the Town’s zoning map\, and applications involving the subdivision of land\, and evaluating mandatory referrals from the Board of Selectmen. Additionally\, the commission oversees long-range planning initiatives\, including the preparation of the Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development. \nPlanning and Zoning Commission Regular Meetings typically occur on the second and fourth Mondays of the month\, from 7-9 p.m. \nMeetings can be attended by the public via the Zoom link. \nMembers of the public can submit written comments and questions via email to Land Use Director/Town Planner Michael Wrinn by 12 p.m. on the day of the meeting\, or members of the public can comment on Zoom at the appropriate time by raising a hand to notify the host of the intent to provide comments. Public participants will be promoted one at a time to provide comments live on Zoom.

DESCRIPTION:The Wilton Teen Library Council (TLC) is a monthly group for youth in grades 6-12 who are interested in becoming more involved with the library. All Wilton teens are welcome. Benefits include: helping librarians choose teen materials\, brainstorming ideas for teen programs\, gaining experience working in a leadership role\, and helping the community through service projects. \nEach meeting will consist of a small group activity and discussion of upcoming events. The group will meet the second Tuesday of each month and participants are encouraged to attend all meetings. DESCRIPTION:The Board of Finance exercises oversight of the Town of Wilton’s finances. The primary function of the Board is to recommend a budget and a mill rate to the Annual Town Meeting. The Board also has the power to designate the external auditor and to approve supplemental appropriations upon the request of the Board of Selectmen or the Board of Education. The Board reviews bonding proposals prior to consideration by the Annual Town Meeting and the Connecticut General Statutes grant certain powers to the Board\, such as approving investments of Town funds. \nBy ordinance\, the Board appoints one trustee to each of the Retirement Plan for the Employees of the Town of Wilton\, the Trust Fund for Post-Employment Benefits\, and the Wilton Employees Retirement Plan Investment Committee. \nThe Board of Finance consists of six elected members and the terms of office of each member shall be four years and until a successor shall have taken office. \nMeeting agendas\, minutes\, Zoom links\, and more information can be found here.
