DESCRIPTION:The Board of Finance of the Town of Wilton will hold a public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2024 school budget requested by the Board of Education on Monday\, March 27\, at 7 p.m. at Middlebrook Auditorium and via Zoom. \nAt the hearing\, all interested persons and taxpayers of the Town of Wilton are invited to comment on or inquire about the requested budget. \nThe Wilton PTAs are providing free pizza and childcare beginning at 6:30 p.m. (online signup is required; pre-register for babysitting by Friday\, March 24; no drop-ins will be allowed. Babysitting is only for students in grades K-5). Paraprofessionals will be supervising the children in the Middlebrook cafeteria (down the hall from the Middlebrook auditorium where the public hearing will be held).

SUMMARY:2023 League of Women Voters Candidate Forum: Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance
DESCRIPTION:The Wilton League of Women Voters\, Wilton Library\, and GOOD Morning Wilton will cosponsor two events at which voters can hear from candidates running for positions on the Board of Selectmen\, the Board of Education\, and the Board of Finance. Both events will follow a Cumulative Time Format and both will be moderated by a League of Women Voters-certified\, out-of-town moderator who will present questions submitted by the public in written form. The sessions will take place in Wilton Library’s Brubeck Room and will be live-streamed on GOOD Morning Wilton‘s website. In addition\, the sessions will be recorded for later viewing on GOOD Morning Wilton and the Wilton Library website . \nThe Tuesday\, Oct. 24 forum will feature the candidates running for the Board of Education. The Thursday\, Oct. 26 forum will feature the candidates running for the Board of Selectmen and the Board of Finance. Both events will start at 7 p.m. The sessions will provide community members an opportunity to hear from the candidates who seek to serve and make critical decisions facing the town in the coming years; and to pose questions to them that will highlight their goals and priorities. \nQuestions for the candidates may be submitted in advance through the Wilton League of Women Voters via email or live from the audience in the Brubeck Room. Here are some important guidelines for submitting questions: anonymous emails will not be accepted; only one question can be submitted per email; all questions must be applicable to all candidates and pertinent to local issues; questions targeted at one specific candidate will not be accepted. All questions will be screened for legibility\, duplication\, and may be combined or condensed.
