DESCRIPTION:Join Wilton Library on Friday evening\, Apr. 25\, for a special author talk program with Wilton’s First Selectman Toni Boucher as we celebrate the publication of her first book\, The Husky Effect: How UConn is Creating the Entrepreneurs of the Future\, a deeply personal story of entrepreneurship and ingenuity as well as a thoughtful exploration of the spirit of innovation that’s flourishing in the University of Connecticut School of Business\, inspired by the national champion UConn Huskies men’s and women’s basketball teams. \nIn The Husky Effect\, Boucher — a selectman\, former Connecticut state legislator\, executive\, and UConn School of Business alum — lays out a recipe for entrepreneurs of any age to reach for their dreams. Boucher explores the stories of her father\, who brought her family to the United States when she was a little girl\, and her late husband\, Bud\, both of whom\, despite risks and failures\, never gave up until they found success. That dogged determination and the incredible success of Bud’s businesses allowed Toni to name the Boucher Management and Entrepreneurship Department at the UConn School of Business in his honor. She has an MBA from UConn\, has founded several startups\, and is now helping the UConn School of Business grow its entrepreneurship and student-run investment programs.
