SUMMARY:Pumpkin Decorating–Mummy or Leafy?
DESCRIPTION:Ready for Halloween? Still need a pumpkin? Come to the Museum Complex of the Wilton Historical Society on Saturday\, Oct. 17. You can buy a pumpkin from the Wilton Kiwanis Club (as well as gourds\, mums\, and decorative corn) and decorate it. Immediate gratification! Katherine Karlik\, museum educator\, will be offering two sessions of demonstrating how to make two very different looking pumpkins. One is a “Mummy” pumpkin\, the other uses a decoupage-type technique and colorful leaves. \nThere will be two sessions\, each a half-hour long\, with 10 people allowed in each session. The first is from 11-11:30 a.m.; the second is 12-12:30 p.m. to allow for sanitizing between each. Bring your own pumpkin\, decorating materials provided. The cost is $10 per pumpkin decorated. \nRegister by email.

SUMMARY:The Wilton Historical Society's 2nd Annual Great Wilton Pumpkin Fest
DESCRIPTION:The Wilton Historical Society‘s Second Annual Great Wilton Pumpkin Fest will take place on Saturday\, Oct. 15 from 2-4 p.m. It’s fun for all ages as with all things pumpkin! Play fall-themed lawn games such as cornhole and pumpkin tic-tac-toe\, or join costumed colonial docents as they cook over an open hearth\, weave and spin flax\, or hammer away in the blacksmith’s forge\, all while munching on complimentary cider and donuts. \nVisitors can also pick up their very own pumpkin to bring home! Browse the pumpkin patch of the Wilton Kiwanis Club on the Society’s front lawn and purchase the perfect one. Then head over to the pumpkin decorating station and put your creativity on display. Kiwanis will also have small gourds and mums on sale to help fill out your personal harvest display. \nSeveral exhibitions\, including Lives and Landscapes: Art from the Permanent Collection\, will be open to explore\, as well as the Society’s gift shop\, the Betts Store. Enjoy a full day of pumpkin fun!
