DESCRIPTION:One of Woodcock Nature Center’s largest fundraisers\, Under the Harvest Moon on Friday\, Sept. 13\, at 7 p.m.\, welcomes 150 guests in its candlelit pavilion for an evening of great food\, good music\, silent and live auctions and great company. A highlight of the event is local as chef Sarah Bouissou of Sarah’s Wine Bar will prepare a generous farm-to-table tasting with produce from Horseshoe Farm\, Ambler Farm\, and The Hickories. Ridgefield’s No. 109 Cheese and Wine will provide a sampling of artisanal cheeses; wine will be provided by Cellar XV and beer will be served courtesy of  Nod Hill Brewery. \nThe evening includes a silent and live auction for a variety of popular items including unique Woodcock experiences such as catered dinners on our preserve from local chefs and a very popular VIP Wreath Festival package. All proceeds support Woodcock’s environmental education initiatives that connect people to the habitats\, plants\, and animals of this area to build awareness\, nurture understanding\, and advance conservation. \nTickets are $90 and may be purchased on the Woodcock Nature Center website beginning July 22.

Prices listed are twin from $199\, full from $259\, queen from $289\, and King/California King from $499. For anyone who purchases a mattress\, the cost for the removal of an old mattress is $25. \nLayaway & delivery are available. \nIn addition to beds\, there will also be luxury pillows\, sheets\, and even adjustable power bases available for purchase.

Held in and around Woodcock’s picturesque candlelit pavilion and pond\, a highlight of the evening is carefully prepared fare by local chef Sarah Bouïssou of Sarah’s Wine Bar and Bernard’s Restaurant\, plus cheese tastings from No. 109 Cheese and Wine\, wine from Cellar XV Wine Market\, and brews and spirits from Nod Hill Brewery\, Litchfield Distillery and much more! \nTickets are $150 each\, and the event is rain or shine (no refunds). DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the evergreen generosity of Wilton residents\, more than 150 gently used (some new with tags!) dresses\, cocktail and formal separates\, bags\, shoes\, and accessories — even some tuxedos for the gents — will be available to take home in return for a donation of any amount\, all in the name of raising funds for the Wilton High School Theater Arts Association to stage Mary Poppins this May. \nThe best part? These practically perfect items will get a new lease on life\, having been freed from closets and attics where their previous owners have stored them along with so many prom and formal dress memories. Shoppers will enjoy music\, a photo booth\, and refreshments. \nWHEN: Friday\, March 24th\, 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. \nWHERE: The Zellner Gallery at The Clune Center \nWHY: The TAA booster organization must raise $20\,000 to stage Mary Poppins\, which augments the budget from the Board of Education and ticket sales. A cast and crew of more than 50 students and professionals are already hard at work learning lines\, building sets\, and practicing choreography. The most exciting element for audiences is also the most expensive: the costs associated with the “magic” of making Mary fly. The renowned Broadway team from ZFX Flying Effects will ensure the best-in-class safety protocols at all times. \nWiltonians and other area residents have been donating their gently used formal wear since early March to Wilton boutiques Blue Star Bazaar and Champagne Taste; at this time more than 150 items have been collected. \nAccording to statistics\, the average price of a prom dress (not including shoes or other accessories) is $85 – $700\, and is usually never worn again. Repurposing dresses and other garments saves them from ending up in landfills\, thereby reducing air pollution\, water pollution\, and greenhouse gas emissions. \n  \n
