DESCRIPTION:Wilton Commons is hosting its 2nd Annual Community Trick or Treat event on Friday\, Oct. 25\, at 5 p.m.. Both Wilton Commons and Wilton Commons Congregate communities will have a fun role in the festivities. We’re welcoming all children to attend this bootiful event! \nAnyone that is interested in sponsoring candy or participating in this event can email Melody Gonzalez. \nWilton Commons has a total of 70 units that will be potentially participating in the candy giveaway. Kids\, accompanied by an adult\, will walk by the units to enjoy their trick or treating. There are three floors\, and each will be judged collectively on creativity. \nFollowing the trick or treating\, Wilton Commons Main Community room will be set up as a haunted area where our kids will end their night enjoying activities\, taking pictures with our seniors\, and having fresh popcorn from our popcorn machine. During this time\, kids will also be placing their votes on their favorite floor. The floor with the most votes will win a spooktacular surprise! \nVisitor parking is available at Trackside Teen Center; if that lot is full\, additional parking is available at Commonfund (the building and lot across from Trackside.

DESCRIPTION:The 1st Annual Wilton Monster Mash will take place on Saturday\, Oct. 26\, from 7-11 p.m. at Trackside Teen Center. This is a 21-and-over event\, open to the public\, featuring food\, open beer and wine bar\, and the live music of Wilton’s premiere surf and ska band\, One Bad Oyster! A costume contest with exciting prizes will add to the festivities. \nThe event is co-hosted by Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Academy and Trackside Teen Center. Proceeds from the event will benefit both organizations. \nSponsorships are still available at a variety of levels. Donations such as merchandise and gift certificates from local businesses or individuals are also being sought for prizes. All sponsors will receive recognition in signage and event materials\, including those distributed to the entire school community. Sponsors should contact Cindy Moser. \nTickets are $65 (which includes admission\, food\, open beer/wine bar\, and entry to the costume contest) and can be purchased online. DESCRIPTION:Ready for Halloween? Still need a pumpkin? Come to the Museum Complex of the Wilton Historical Society on Saturday\, Oct. 17. You can buy a pumpkin from the Wilton Kiwanis Club (as well as gourds\, mums\, and decorative corn) and decorate it. Immediate gratification! Katherine Karlik\, museum educator\, will be offering two sessions of demonstrating how to make two very different looking pumpkins. One is a “Mummy” pumpkin\, the other uses a decoupage-type technique and colorful leaves. \nThere will be two sessions\, each a half-hour long\, with 10 people allowed in each session. The first is from 11-11:30 a.m.; the second is 12-12:30 p.m. to allow for sanitizing between each. Bring your own pumpkin\, decorating materials provided. As he has gotten to know the Wilton community\, Baiad wants to continue to support the WCAF in a socially distanced manner by bringing the annual Halloween fundraiser to residents’ front steps. \nOn the weekend of Oct. 24-25\, Baiad will be in Wilton neighborhoods to take Halloween photos outside homes (families\, kids\, and/or pets in their Halloween costumes). In exchange for a suggested donation to the WCAF of $25 or more\, families will receive Halloween portraits from Baiad as his contribution to the community. Cash or checks (payable to the Wilton Community Assistance Fund) will be accepted at the beginning of each photo session. \nImages will be available for download from Baiad within two to three weeks of the outdoor sessions. Each family gets a few images for its donation\, and 100% of the donations go to the WCAF. All proceeds will be donated to Wilton Social Services. In years past\, this portion of the event has raised thousands of dollars to help local families in need during the holiday season. Wilton Go Green will be collecting clean\, complete costumes for children and adults for two days this month. \nDonation drop-off is at the Cannondale Train Station on Monday\, Sept. 12 from 4-6 p.m. or Saturday\, Sept. 17 from 9-11 a.m. \nThe costume “Shopping Event” is Saturday\, Oct. 1\, at the Cannon Grange (25 Cannon Rd.). 2-3 p.m. is reserved for those who donated and 3-4 p.m. is public shopping time\, open to anyone whether they donated or not. \nWilton Go Green will donate any remaining costumes to local organizations supporting families in need.
