DESCRIPTION:Ever seen some strange-looking tracks in the snow or mud and wondered what left them? On this casual excursion through the woods at Woodcock Nature Center\, learn to identify tracks and signs of different mammals that live around the trails! \nVery few mammals in Connecticut are true hibernators — while some slow down and take long naps\, many remain active through the winter searching for food and staying warm. Along the way\, we will also look at trees and learn how to identify certain species using bark patterns and texture. \nThis event is free. Online registration is required.

Held in and around Woodcock’s picturesque candlelit pavilion and pond\, a highlight of the evening is carefully prepared fare by local chefs Sarah and Bernard Bouïssou of À Table in Ridgefield. \nA unique silent auction from September 6-16 includes items not available anywhere else such as tickets to a private meet and greet package with Cheyanne the Red Tailed Hawk… you can even bid on a spot at summer camp!
