DESCRIPTION:The Wilton Rotary Club will again sponsor its traditional family carnival from Sept. 13-15 at the corner of School Rd. and Rte. 7. The event benefits the Wilton Rotary Club’s community improvement projects both locally and internationally. GOOD Morning Wilton is the media sponsor of the event. \nCarnival hours are:  Friday\, Sept. 13\, 6-10 p.m.; Saturday\, Sept. 14\, noon-10 p.m.; and Sunday\, Sept. 15\, noon-5 p.m.. Staged by Tufano Amusements\, the carnival will offer over 11 different rides for a variety of ages as well as multiple games of chance. Food options include Bubble and Brew serving specialty teas\, bubble teas\, espresso drinks and fresh baked goods; and  Planet Pizza serving scrumptious pizzas. \nAdmission and parking is free. Wristbands for unlimited rides will be sold for $25 each for the following time slots:  Friday:  6-10 p.m.; Saturday:  12-5 p.m. and 5-10 p.m.; and Sunday 12-5 p.m.. Individual ride tickets are also available. Members of the Rotary Club will be manning the ticket booth and assisting with wristbands. \n“This is a wonderful family-friendly event that’s fun for all ages. The rides are great and the games test your skill at winning prizes. We’ll have a lot of good food to offer\, plus it’s a terrific way to start off the school year\,” says Rotary Carnival chair Patrick Russo. “The carnival proceeds go back into the community to support needed projects as well as global humanitarian programs led by Rotary International. DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT IS POSTPONED \nThe 18th Annual Wilton Police Awards\, sponsored by the Wilton Rotary Club\, will be held on Monday\, March 9\, at 6 p.m. in the Brubeck Room at the Wilton Library. \nEach year these awards recognize the Police Officers who protect and serve our community. This event is open to the public. Chief of Police John Lynch\, First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice and the police commissioners will be on hand to honor our men and women in blue. Some of the prestigious awards include Medal of Honor\, Medal of Valor\, Meritorious Police Service\, Police Officer of the Year\, and Community Police Officer of the Year. \nChartered in 1982\, the Wilton Rotary Club has raised and returned $750\,000 to the Wilton Community\, and to those in need\, around the world. Wilton Rotary is one of 35\,000 Rotary Clubs in 200 countries across the globe. The Club meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. at Rolling Hills Country Club.
