DESCRIPTION:Join the Rotary Club of Wilton together with the Knights of Columbus Bishop Fenwick Assembly 100 for their family carnival from Sept. 13-15. \nThe Carnival is a great family event and a wonderful Wilton tradition to kick off the autumn season and new school year for everyone. Find over a dozen different rides for all ages as well as multiple games and other activities for the whole family. Additionally\, enjoy a variety of food trucks and vendors throughout the weekend event. \nThe carnival takes place at the corner of School Road and Danbury Road/Route 7. \nAdmission and parking is free. Unlimited ride wristbands are $30 per wristband for each time slot and individual ride tickets are available as well. \nAll proceeds go to the community in support of Wilton projects as well as Rotary International global humanitarian projects. \nFriday Sept. 13\, 6-10 p.m. \nSaturday Sept. 14\, 12-10 p.m. \nSunday Sept. 15\, 12-5 p.m. \n

SUMMARY:WHS and WCC's Spirits of the Past
DESCRIPTION:Join the Wilton Historical Society and the Wilton Congregational Church on Sunday\, November 3 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. to explore the town’s oldest extant burial ground\, Sharp Hill Cemetery. \nEstablished in 1738\, the cemetery was active up to the 1880’s. It serves as the final resting place of many notable Wilton residents\, including Revolutionary War veterans\, pastors\, businessmen\, and town founders with familiar names like Lambert and Hurlbutt. \nCostumed reenactors along with Wilton History Room Archivist Dr. Julie Hughes\, Wilton Historical Society Director Nick Foster\, and Wilton Congregational Church Executive Administrator Pam Brown will be on hand to share the fascinating history of the cemetery\, the town\, and the select individuals interred there\, as well as the historic traditions surrounding death and burials in the 18th and 19th centuries. \nWalk begins near the main gate of Sharp Hill Cemetery. The cemetery is located at the intersection of Danbury Road (Route 7) and Sharp Hill Road (Route 6). \nRegister in advance online or by email. $10 Suggested Donation.
