DESCRIPTION:Join local bird enthusiast Tommy McCarthy for a guided walk and discover some of nature’s most charismatic creatures! Spring means birds are busy singing for mates\, building nests\, and raising young. On this walk\, we will explore some of the different types of habitat at Woodcock Nature Center and learn to look and listen for the birds that live there. If you are new to birdwatching\, you are sure to learn about at least one species you have never heard of! \nTommy is a recent college graduate with a degree in environmental science who has spent the past year studying and photographing Connecticut’s many bird species. \nThis event is geared more towards adults\, although kids are still welcome. Binoculars are recommended. This event is free but a $25 donation is recommended per group. Register here. Please email Sam with any questions.

Enjoy the flora and fauna and one another’s company while getting questions answered along the trail as they arise. \nThis event is free. Registration is required. Dress for the weather as the event will be held rain or shine. Leashed dogs welcome. \nThis program is being run in partnership with the CT Forest and Park Association.
