DESCRIPTION:The Wilton Police Department will be offering tours of its facility on Saturday\, Nov. 13\, 2021\, 9 am-12 pm. Members of the community are welcome to stop by anytime during these hours for a tour. Drawings of the proposed new building will also be on display outside. \nThe tours are being offered in conjunction with the work of the Police-Town Hall Building Committee that was charged with studying the deficiencies and needs of the WPD headquarters and subsequently made a recommendation to the BOS for the construction of a new building. The committee encourages residents to take advantage of the tours to learn about the building’s challenges firsthand. You may also do so at your leisure by visiting the project website.

DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, June 30\, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.\, the Wilton Historical Society will host a guided tour of its two new exhibitions – The Town Book: E. Boyd Smith’s 20th Century Wilton and Commitment to Community: The Lives of Francis Clerc and Francis Clerc Ogden. The tour\, led by Wilton Historical Society Director Nick Foster\, will offer additional historical details\, behind the scenes information\, and discussions on themes of the exhibitions. How do museums choose objects for an exhibition? Who influenced E. Boyd Smith’s art? What can we learn from working with the deaf community? Visitors can ask questions and share their own connections to the history being explored. \nThe program includes an approximately 35 to 45 minute guided tour of the two exhibitions with additional time for Q&A. \nThe fee is $10 for non-member adults and is free for Wilton Historical Society members and children under 18.
