DESCRIPTION:Wilton Youth Council’s Mental Health Task Force and Wilton Library are co-sponsoring a Volunteer Fair on Saturday\, Sept. 21\, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. \nThe Wilton community is invited to visit the Brubeck Room to explore the many volunteer opportunities for all ages available through Wilton organizations. College Creamery will be on hand and live music will be presented by Present Company. \nWhile many of Wilton’s organizations benefit from and are run by volunteers\, Mental Health Task Force officials say there are also health benefits that volunteering can bring individuals. “Volunteering is shown to improve both physical and mental health and also bring a sense of belonging while building community relationships for volunteers\,” Wilton Youth Council Executive Director Chandra Ring said. “Further\, we recognize that many adults are struggling to build community connections — volunteering is an excellent way to foster and build these relationships.” \nThe organizations seeking volunteers that are scheduled to be on hand include: \n\nA Better Chance of Wilton\nAmerican Foundation for Suicide Prevention\nFeeding 500\nFriends of Ambler Farm\nGirl Scouts of Connecticut\nKids in Crisis\nRiverbrook Regional YMCA\nRotary Club of Wilton\nSPED*NET\, Special Education Network\nStay at Home in Wilton\nWaveny — Visiting Nurse and Hospice\nWi-Act (Wilton Interfaith Action Committee\nWilton Democratic Town Committee\nWilton Education Foundation\nWilton Go Green\nWilton High School PTA\nWilton Historical Society\nWilton League of Women Voters\nWilton Library\nWilton Pride\nWilton Republican Town Committee\nWilton Scouts of America\nWilton SEPTA\nWilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps\nWilton Woman’s Club\nWilton Youth Council
