DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, April 17\, 2021\, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.\, come “Get Colonial” with DAR! You may see DAR members around town in colonial dress handing out flags. Feel free to put on your colonial dress to support our revolutionary patriots! Wilton Garden Club will be celebrating Daffodil Festival and we have partnered with them\, so you might see us around the Wilton Historical Society dressed up as well! Wilton Library will display books on patriots\, as well as books on the Battles of Lexington and Concord. \nPatriots’ Day\, the third Monday in the Month of April commemorates the Battles of Lexington and Concord\, also known as the “shots heard round the world.” Massachusetts observes Patriots’ Day with the running of the Boston Marathon. Other states observing Patriots’ Day include Maine\, Wisconsin\, Connecticut (2018)\, North Dakota (2019)\, and Florida. As America leads up to her 250th birthday in 2026\, Drum Hill DAR is launching a Patriots’ Day Initiative. We have many fun and some solemn activities planned. We hope you will join us!

DESCRIPTION:Join the League of Women Voters and the Wilton Library for a community program with Wilton’s next first selectman Toni Boucher. \nAlthough Wilton voters will not head to the polls until the first Tuesday in November\, town residents already know who will be serving as their next first selectman\, as that race is uncontested. Whether you’ve known her for years or you’ve never met  Boucher\, come to the event on Wednesday\, Nov. 8 (the day after the election) in the Wilton Library Brubeck Room at 7 p.m. to learn what’s in store for Wilton and hear directly from the next town leader. \nBoucher has previously served Wilton constituents in a number of roles\, including both the Board of Education and the\nBoard of Selectmen. From 1996-2008 she served as state representative for the 143rd District\, and then as the 26th District’s state senator from 2008 to 2018. \nCoffee and light refreshments will be served. \nThis event is free to attend.
