SUMMARY:New Perspectives Film Series: Sneak Peek Documentary Trailer-Fest!
DESCRIPTION:New Perspectives programmer and moderator Megan Smith-Harris has watched over 200 new documentaries in preparation for the Ridgefield Independent Film Festival. She has put together a curated selection of trailers for the best-of-the-best\, soon-to-be released docs exclusively for Wilton Library. She’ll provide context and behind-the-scenes insights about each film. The audience will be canvassed about which titles they would like to see screened during the 2018/19 New Perspectives Series season\, so in essence\, everyone will become a film programmer for the evening. \nShe also will discuss the anatomy of a trailer–describing how a 90-minute film is cut to a 90-second teaser. Suggested donation:  $5. Refreshments will be served. The New Perspectives Documentary series is programmed and moderated by filmmaker Megan Smith-Harris. A Q&A will follow the film. Registration is highly recommended. Register online or call 203.762.6334.

SUMMARY:Author Talk: Charles Belfoure\, "The Fallen Architect"
DESCRIPTION:A tragedy has happened due to an architectural flaw by Douglas Layton. He is sentenced after a guilty verdict but is it really as a result of his design. And why? \nThe Fallen Architect is the latest from novelist Charles Belfoure\, the nationally bestselling author of The Paris Architect\, who’s been called “an up and coming Ken Follett” (Booklist). An architect by profession\, Belfoure graduated from the Pratt Institute and Columbia University. He has been a freelance writer for The Baltimore Sun and The New York Times\, and lives in Maryland. \nQ&A will follow the talk. No charge. Registration highly recommended. SUMMARY:JoyRide For The Wilton Library!
DESCRIPTION:Passage East Kennels and Pet Pantry Warehouse are excited to host a fundraising JoyREAD to benefit the Wilton Library Association‘s “25 for 25” Town Grant Challenge! Join us at JoyRide of Wilton next Saturday\, Oct. 20\, at 11 a.m. for a 50-minute cycling class with Adam\, followed by refreshments. \nWe’ll make it worth the sweat–all riders will go home with a doggy swag bag containing $25 to use toward any boarding\, grooming\, daycare\, or training service at Passage East\, as well as a 10% off coupon towards any purchase at Pet Pantry\, located right next to the studio. \nMinimum donation is $40 per rider\, to be paid in cash or check made out to Wilton Library Association at the time of the event. Space is limited to 36 riders\, so sign up now on the JoyRide website. \nMore about the “25 for 25” Challenge:  In this year’s budgeting process\, the Library was challenged by the Town of Wilton to raise $25\,000 in additional funding which would be matched by the Town\, thereby reaching Wilton Library’s original budget request. Because of the Town’s challenging budget year\, the library has launched its ’25 for 25′ Campaign\, which is a critical piece in securing the organization’s operating funds. \nThe Library has always been there for us–now it’s our turn to show them some love!
