SUMMARY:3rd Annual Wilton Winter Carnival
DESCRIPTION:The Wilton Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the date for its third Annual Wilton Winter Carnival. This event\, sponsored by Fairfield County Bank\, will be held on Sunday\, Jan. 26\, from 12-4 p.m.\, and is designed to be fun for all ages! \nVisitors are invited to enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides; a live\, ice-sculpting demonstration at the Town Green Gazebo plus pre-carved sculptures at Fairfield County Bank\, Gregory and Adams\, P.C.\, Village Market\, and Wilton Library; live music from WEBE 108; a campfire for roasting marshmallows (children must be accompanied by an adult) hosted by the Wilton Rotary Club; a life-sized Olaf character from Frozen for photo ops; kids activities and crafts provided by Little Green Frog and others; and kids games and treats. Guests can stroll through town to view all Wilton has to offer and stop in at the Wilton Library\, which will be open with special activities and offering a seat to warm up next to the fireplace. \nThere will be many culinary treats as well; food trucks on hand will include Cousins Maine Lobster\, Lucky Dog\, Planet Pizza and more. Adults will also be able to enjoy non-alcoholic and craft beers\, as well as cordial and spirit tastings\, including bourbon\, whiskey\, Scotch and warm cocktails. \nAlso new for this year\, the Chamber is offering free giveaways to the first 250 guests at the carnival–they’ll receive a free yowie multifunctional rally wear–use it as a scarf\, bandana\, headband\, neck warmer\, beanie\, hair cover and so many more uses! \nSupporting sponsors include Kimco Realty and Blue Buffalo; the entertainment sponsor is Passage East Kennels; and media sponsors are GOOD Morning Wilton and WEBE 108\, plus others to be announced. \nThe event is rain\, snow or shine\, so bundle up and come outside and enjoy! \nFor more information\, contact Chamber executive director Debra Hanson or assistant director Camille Carriero at 203.762.0567 or via email.

DESCRIPTION:Wilton Library staff will welcome visitors during this year’s Winter Carnival. \nFor this special event\, the library will open its doors one hour early\, at noon. Visitors of all ages are invited to warm up inside the library. \nLibrary staff will be handing out complimentary grab-and-go winter craft kits — two different versions\, for teens and children — one per person\, while supplies last. \nTweens and teens in grades 6-12 can stop by the teen services department to pick up a snowflake origami kit. Hosted by the Wilton Chamber of Commerce and proudly sponsored by Fairfield County Bank\, the Winter Carnival will be held on Sunday\, Feb. 5 from 12-4 p.m. at the Town Green with other exciting festivities simultaneously taking place around Wilton Center. \nStart off the event with a whimsical horse-drawn wagon ride around the Town Center presented by Kimco Realty\, watch a live ice sculpting demonstration by the Gazebo and win prizes for our scavenger hunt by finding the beautiful ice sculptures throughout town! \nAdditional festivities will include a magic show performance by Tony the Jester\, a character meet-and-greet with your favorite “winter princess and snowman\,” and carnival performers engaging adults and young ones at the Town Green. A selection of food and beverage options will be available from local food trucks such as Bubble & Brew and Cousins Maine Lobster\, and activities to keep the kids busy will include face painting\, sand art\, crafts\, meeting mini ponies from Rising Starr Horse Rescue\, and so many more fun activities provided by our local organizations participating in the event. \nThere’s more! The Wilton Library will open its doors one hour early\, at noon. Visitors of all ages are invited to warm up inside where tweens and teens in grades 6-12 can stop by the Teen Department to learn how to make fun and easy decorative paper snowflakes\, while supplies last. Children in grades K-5 can visit the Children’s Library to create a wintery craft project and pick up a winter bookmark. Then make sure to head over to Schenck’s Island for some marshmallow roasting sponsored by the Wilton Rotary Club (children must be accompanied by an adult). \nNumerous festivities will be held throughout the Center and guests are highly encouraged to visit and shop at Wilton’s local retail stores during the afternoon and enjoy a bite or beverage at one of our fantastic restaurants as they stroll to each activity.
