SUMMARY:Woodcock Nature Center Under the Harvest Moon
DESCRIPTION:One of the largest fundraisers of the year for Woodcock Nature Center\, Under the Harvest Moon on Friday\, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. promises to be an enjoyable evening of food\, music and more to benefit the nature center’s well-loved programs in environmental education. \nHeld in Woodcock’s picturesque candlelit pavilion\, a highlight of the evening is a generous tasting of food carefully prepared by local chef Sarah Bouissou of Sarah’s Wine Bar. Chef Bouissou prepares the evening’s delectable meal from a selection of produce donated from local farms including Millstone Farm\, Ambler Farm\, Horseshoe Farm and The Hickories. \nTo begin the evening\, No. 109 Cheese and Wine\, along with other local vendors\, will provide a sampling of artisanal cheeses and appetizers\, and a generous wine-tasting selection will be provided by Ridgefield’s Cellar XV as guests enjoy music by local musicians. Local craft brews from Two Roads\, Nod Hill Brewery will be on hand for beer-loving guests. \nThe evening also includes a silent and live auction for a variety of popular items including VIP tickets to “Late Show with Stephen Colbert\,” as well as unique Woodcock experiences\, such as dinners on the 149-acre preserve catered by local restaurants; children and family experiences\, such as animal encounters and birthday parties; and a very popular VIP Wreath Festival package. \nBenefit organizers note that the attire for the casual\, cocktail style fundraiser is “campground chic” and that both old and new friends of Woodcock are welcome. \nAll proceeds support Woodcock’s environmental education initiatives\, which include local outreach\, school programs\, a variety of family events and adult education activities aimed at connecting to and appreciating our natural world. \nTickets are $80 each and may be purchased at woodcocknaturecenter.org. \nEvent media sponsors include: Serendipity Magazine\, Town Vibe and GOOD Morning Wilton.
