Most likely by now you’ve seen the pumpkin patch at the Wilton Historical Society. Run by the Kiwanis Club of Wilton, the pumpkin patch generates proceeds that the Kiwanis use to benefit many of the local charities they support.
This weekend, Oct. 13-14, however, the Kiwanis club of Wilton will be donating the net proceeds of their Pumpkin Patch to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, an organization founded to help research and find a cure. The club members were inspired to devote the weekend’s sales toward the JDRF by 2-year-old Micah West, the grandson of Kiwanis Club member and Wilton resident Ray Tobiassen. Micah is living with juvenile diabetes.
The pumpkin patch weekend hours are Saturdays, 12-5:30 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m.. There will also be an “Honor” box in the event the patch in unmanned.
