The following was a letter sent to GOOD Morning Wilton by Mark Ketley, the executive director of  Trackside Teen Center.

Friends and users of Trackside,

Our annual fundraiser, Trackside Spring Fling, is scheduled for Saturday, April 26. This year’s theme, “Trackside Rallies Around Wilton” really says it all about the teen center’s commitment to local organizations whose work benefits our community.  As you know, we try to get as many groups as possible scheduled for meetings and workshops, free of charge or for a nominal fee. We do this because we believe that a strong community is one that works from the heart, especially those that advocate for our young people.

What you may not know, Trackside receives some financial support from the town, but over the last six years, we have not asked for an an increase, not a penny more, than our prior years’ subsidy. As costs rise, this becomes a challenge, a challenge that we embrace as we continue to keep our doors open to the kids, free of charge, every afternoon.

I am asking those that enjoyed the use of our facility over the past year to come celebrate with us on April 26.  Great food by Bianco Rosso, beverages from the Wilton Wine Shoppe,  live music by the Darst Jones Bloom Band, dancing with a DJ, and some fabulous silent auction prizes will make this a terrific evening.

Please rally around Wilton with us, and show your appreciation to Trackside for the services we have provided over the past year. We would love to have you here on the 26th, but will gladly accept a donation towards the spring fling in your absence. You can buy a ticket by calling me at Trackside at 203.834.2888 or go to our website and buy tickets through paypal.

Trackside needs your support so that we can continue to offer a safe, drug and alcohol free environment to our young adults.  They deserve it.

Mark Ketley

  1. This is a great letter by Mr. Ketley. Many residents of Wilton don’t realize how fortunate we are to have a wonderful facility like Trackside and a committed staff led by Mr. Ketley who strives to provide a safe and fun environment for the youths in our great town. I know that the town of Ridgefield is very envious of our Teen Center and wished they had one. Here is to a successful and well attended event on the 28th!!
