SUMMARY:Wilton Pride and Norwalk River Valley Trail First Push N' Pull Parade — POSTPONED
DESCRIPTION:**This event has been POSTPONED**\n\n\nWilton Pride\, in partnership with the Norwalk River Valley Trail (NRVT)\, is pleased to announce the first Push N’ Pull Parade happening Sunday\, June 25\,  from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the NRVT in Wilton. The event will feature music\, festivities\, flare\, ‘Best’ contests\, and much more. The Parade is part of Be You\, a series of events organized by Wilton Pride in collaboration with town organizations and businesses to celebrate Pride Month in June.\n\n\nStart out at the trailhead on Rt. 7 at Wolfpit Road\, best accessed from across from the commuter parking lot in Wilton. Once there\, participants will check-in with registration\, be motivated to get into the parade spirit (including a selfie booth full with props and swag)\, and encouraged to enter the ‘Best’ contests (details below).\n\n\nThen paraders will take their Pride to the Trail!\n\n\nWalk\, dance\, run\, bike\, stroll\, roll\, and enjoy the beautiful NRVT. The parade route leads to the parking lot at Sharp Hill Road & Autumn Ridge Drive for the next bit of fun.\n\n \n\n\nOnce there\, participants can enjoy some treats\, listen to music\, and hang out. There will be an opportunity to meet new people\, learn about Proud Academy\, Pollinator Pathways\, and different ways to support the NRVT and Wilton Pride. Also\, all the ‘Best’ contest winners will be announced here!\n\n\nPride Best Dressed Contest: Make sure to Dress To Impress! Prizes awarded in the following categories:\n\n\n● Best Embodiment of PRIDE\n\n\n● Best Use of Color\n\n\n● Best Creative Use of Flare\n\n\nThere will be one winner in each category. SUMMARY:DIY DK100 Mitch Ancona Ride to Benefit NRVT
DESCRIPTION:The Norwalk River Valley Trail (NRVT) introduces the DIY DK100 Mitch Ancona Ride on Saturday\, Sept. 12\, when Mitch Ancona\, owner of Ancona’s Wines and Liquors\, will ride an epic 100 miles on the NRVT to showcase the trail and raise funds to build more miles.\n\n\nMitch will be riding the East Loop of the Wilton NRVT which is about two miles long. Starting at the Wilton Twin Oaks Ln. parking lot\, Mitch will be riding his single speed bike back and forth and back and forth…. many times!\n\n\nAncona is a longtime supporter of the NRVT and is ready to build more trail. He rides “not for a living\, but to live\,” and he supports the NRVT\, “so others can have a safe place to ride a bike or walk.”\n\n\nHow you can help:  Support Mitch with a donation on the NRVT website\, come ride some of the trail with him\, or come cheer him on. Mitch will be on the NRVT trail from 8 a.m. until he completes the 100 miles. Bring your cowbells\, “Go Mitch!” signs\, and clap and whistle him down the NRVT East Loop trail. He will be appreciative and so will the NRVT! And please make sure that you observe social distancing on the NRVT.\n\n\nDuring the Coronavirus crisis\, NRVT use spiked by over 260%. The NRVT has eight miles of completed trail and 22 more miles to build. DESCRIPTION:The Norwalk River Valley Trail (NRVT) introduces “Mutt Strut & Friends Virtual”\, a fun replacement for the Annual Mutt Strut Fundraiser which was canceled due to COVID-19. Mutt Strut & Friends Virtual gives everyone the chance to showcase their dogs\, win prizes\, and raise funds to build more of the NRVT. Mutt Strut & Friends Virtual begins May 16 and runs to June 5.\n\n\nPost your favorite picture of your dog (or other friends.. cat\, ferret\, bunny\, etc.) or share a short video of clip of those crazy dog tricks. The Top Dog/Cutest Pet/Best Video entries will win prizes for pets and their humans\, including Cannondale Bikes\, Joy Food fresh dog food\, grooming\, and other prizes in addition to the prestigious Mutt Strut & Friends Virtual trophies.\n\n\nPlease visit the website for entry directions and check the Mutt Strut & Friends Virtual Leaderboard daily to see the leading “mutts”.\n\n\nDuring the Coronavirus crisis\, the NRVT had trail use spike by over 150%.
