SUMMARY:Fall Migration Birding at Allen's Meadow and its Community Gardens with Joe Bear
DESCRIPTION:Join expert birder\, conservationist\, master gardener and Wilton resident Joe Bear for this free series of three fall migration bird walks at Allen’s Meadow. Millions of birds journey south to their wintering grounds this time of year\, some staying in Connecticut\, some traveling as far away as the pampas grasslands of South America.  Bear will lead walkers on a leisurely two-hour walk through the diverse habitats this well-known CT birding hot spot has to offer — open fields and meadow\, woodland edges\, the community gardens (which are often teaming with migrants)\, and the new native pollinator meadow. Fall sightings in recent years have included bobolinks\, dickcissels\, indigo buntings\, a variety of warblers\, orioles\, flycatchers and sparrows\, as well as several species of soaring raptors including bald eagles.\n\n\nRegister online.\n\n\n\nThe walk is drizzle or shine.
