DESCRIPTION:The Wilton Republican Town Committee is holding the grand opening of its campaign headquarters located at 16 Center St.\, in between CT Coffee and Eco Chic Hair Salon\, in Wilton Center near Red Rooster. The official opening will take place on Saturday\, Oct. 23\, at 11 a.m.\n\n\nWilton’s State Rep. Tom O’Dea\, former State Sen. Toni Boucher\, former State Rep. Gail Lavielle and many current town elected and appointed officials will be present to welcome all Wiltonians into the location to meet the RTC’s slate of candidates for this year’s municipal elections.\n\n\n“There is a lot of excitement for the Row B slate this year\, and we are excited to open the doors of our headquarters to the public\,” said Peter Wrampe\, WRTC Chairman. He added\, “We look forward to seeing many of our friends and neighbors stopping by our headquarters in the coming weeks.”\n\n\n“In this important election year\, Row B candidates are running to support our businesses\, law enforcement\, parental participation in Wilton’s schools\, and to protect local zoning from state control. DESCRIPTION:Wilton resident Gail Lavielle\, the former assistant minority leader in CT’s legislature\, in coordination with the Wilton Republican Town Committee (RTC)\, will host “How Wilton Works” on Monday\, Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. This virtual event will provide Wiltonians with an overview of the town’s municipal government\, providing a “Wilton 101” on subjects including how the town budget is set and the roles of elected and appointed commissions.\n\n\n“With so many newcomers to Wilton and with a local election coming up on Nov. 2\, this is the right time to offer a refresher course on Wilton’s unique form of participatory self-government\,” said RTC Chairman Peter Wrampe. “A well-informed electorate is the best way to ensure that our town remains independent and well managed.\n\n\n“It is important to note that this is not a political or promotional event; no current candidates for office will be participating [as a presenter] in the presentation\,” Wrampe added. “It is designed exclusively to help residents understand our unique local form of government. Wiltonians of all political persuasions are welcome to attend.” [Editor’s note: Wrampe is a Republican candidate running in the Constable race for Election 2021. (Election 2021 Policies)\n\n\nLavielle\, a former member of Wilton’s Board of Finance and the town’s Energy Commission\, will be joined by current members of the four major town boards. Selectman Josh Cole\, Board of Finance Chair Jeff Rutishauser\, Board of Education member Jen Lalor\, and Planning & Zoning Chair Rick Tomasetti will each give brief explanations of their board’s duties and responsibilities. Other serious consequences for Wilton\, known and unknown\, would no doubt follow.\n\n\nThe RTC is inviting the public to an information session on the Looney Bill on Thursday\, Jan. 31\, at 7 p.m. at Trackside Teen Center.
