DESCRIPTION:The Wilton Republican Town Committee will hold its Lincoln Dinner to honor Toni Boucher for her many years of public service in Wilton and the State.\n\n\nThe event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday\, May 18 at the Rolling Hills Country Club. The special guest speaker will be Carol Platt Liebau\, president of the Yankee Institute\, which advances free-market and limited-government solutions for Connecticut.\n\n\nTickets are $150 each or two for $290. DESCRIPTION:We strongly oppose the Bill proposed by the Democrats’ Senate Leader that would consolidate the Wilton School District with the Norwalk School District.\n\n\nThe proposal (Senate Bill 454) of State Senate President Pro Tempore Martin Looney (D-New Haven) would seriously jeopardize Wilton’s reputation for high quality\, locally controlled education. Other serious consequences for Wilton\, known and unknown\, would no doubt follow.\n\n\nThe RTC is inviting the public to an information session on the Looney Bill on Thursday\, Jan. 31\, at 7 p.m. at Trackside Teen Center. All are welcome and families with students in Wilton schools are strongly encouraged to attend. DESCRIPTION:Goal Is to Increase Citizen Participation in Town Governance\n\n\nThe Wilton Republican Town Committee invites our friends and neighbors to an Open House at Comstock Community Center on Tuesday evening\, Jan. 8 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.. The Open House will be held in Room 14.\n\n\n“If you’re wondering how to get more involved in the town\, the Open House is a great opportunity to meet neighbors and learn about the process for running for Board of Finance\, Board of Education\, P&Z and other elected positions in November 2019\,” said Bill Lalor\, Wilton RTC chairman. “And if you don’t want to run for office\, there are lots of other ways to take part in town governance through non-elected\, town board positions\, and membership on the RTC. All of this will be part of our Open House.”\n\n\nFollowing the Open House the RTC will hold its regular January meeting that is open to the public starting at 7:30 p.m..\n\n\nIf you can’t make it on Tuesday evening\, don’t worry.
