Person-to-Person is inviting the public to learn more about its efforts to help impoverished and needy families and individuals in Fairfield County, and they’ve extended invitations to join their representatives for a “cocktail and lite-bites” event tonight at Wilton restaurant Bianco Rosso.
The event runs Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 7-9 p.m. at Bianco Rosso, located at 151 Old Ridgefield Rd.; RSVPs are requested at rsvp@p2pHelps.org.
Person-to-Person is Lower Fairfield County’s rapid-response emergency assistance agency, annually providing more than $9 million in food, clothing, financial assistance and interconnected services through the efforts of more than 2,500 volunteers, community support and a small, dedicated staff. They invest in education to help break the cycle of poverty through their Campership and Scholarship Programs.
Attendees at the event can learn a little more about Person-to-Person as a place to volunteer or give donations (clothing, food, furniture etc.), as well as their new facility that just opened in South Norwalk, which has helped Person-to-Person expand its services throughout Wilton, Westport, Weston, New Canaan, Stamford, Darien and Norwalk.
As stated in their mission, the organization is volunteer-driven and community supported. In 2012 the agency had more than 2,200 volunteers committed to providing a helping hand to their neighbors.
