This Sunday, Dec. 17, the Wilton Police and Fire Departments are holding their annual “Stuff-a-Cruiser” holiday toy drive for Toys for Tots. They’ll have cruisers and possibly a fire truck parked outside The Toy Chest at River Park Shopping Plaza (5 River Rd.) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m..

This is the third year that the Stuff-a-Cruiser event is being held, according to Officer Shawn Frendt, one of the police officers who helps organize the effort each year. He says Wilton residents never disappoint with helping out the Toys for Tots cause.

“The community has always been very generous in supporting us. Last year, it was a snow storm the day we held it, and we still filled two cop cars,” Frendt says, who adds that it’s personally a good feeling for him to participate and help out children in need in this way.

Wilton’s first responders will once again partner with The Toy Chest, which is offering a 10% discount to shoppers for the duration of the event.  For more information, contact the Wilton Police Department at 203.834.6260.
